Acls

  1. Having passed my NCLEX, obtained my ICHP Visascreen and been offered a post in Neuro ICU I eagerly await the Go from th INS in the form of my Green Card. I have ACLS from the UK but I understand your protocols are slightly different in the USA. I would be grateful for advice on the best resource in order that I can prepare prior to arrival in the US.

search the web under American Heart Association & look @ their home page. It has professional education there & we practice from their guidelines. I have been AHA ACLS/BLS/PALS Instructor for years & this is what we must comply with. Best wishes on your new journey!

I am trying to find out what the national standard of nurse to patient ratio in a Renal/Neuro Step-Down Unit is? The hospital I
am working at has 2 step-down units, one is mostly cardiac/tele and my floor is Renal/Neuro including hemadiaylsis. Any ideas or sugestions about where to look for this info?

    Thanks,

Jilpil I cannot help you but you would get more responses if you opsted this question as a "new thread". Otherwise people will just see the ACLS title and may skip this thread.

Thanks for sharing the helpful information. I have another question about visascreen. How long did it take for you to finally get this visascreen from ICHP? someone said it might take a year or so, how about you. thanks in advance.

get the ACLS pocket handbook from AHA, nowadays often affiliates let you use this book when testing. they make it now where they want to pass you, not like the days of old.

also, there are freeware pda programs for acls review, too
