I believe they are small, but they are REALLY close to campus. I live in Omaha and must say housing here is EXTREMELY cheap. You could get an apartment for 415 with some utilities, but it would not be furnished as you stated. You could get a roommate if that doesn't freak you out too much.

Yes, they are close as in adjacent to the campus. The school bought an apartment complex that is right next to the school - don't even have to cross the street! There are pictures on the NMC site that would give you some idea of what they are like. Also, the people at Methodist are very helpful. Don't be afraid to call and ask questions to get more information about the housing (like are there older students, etc.) Perhaps it would be helpful to live in the dorm the first semester and then decide if you would rather look for another place the second semester. It is true that apartments are relatively cheap in Omaha. You could find a lot pretty close to campus but may cost more than $415. If you lived a little farther away, it might be a little cheaper. Omaha is an easy city to get around in - the traffic is usually not bad even during "rush hour" (which may take you 10 min longer than less busy times of day). Don't know where in California you live but if you are used to long commutes, you will be pleasently surprised here.

You can get a lot on Craigs list in Omaha (like many other places) so if you go for an unfurnished apartment you could pick up some things there (or at a thrift store). Just remember that you will be very busy and won't have a lot of time to bargain shop unless you come to Omaha before the program starts.

Hey knwgolf- congrats!!!!!!! sorry it's taken me so long to reply, we shut off our cable since we are moving to Denver in 1 week!!!!!!!! Woohooo ! Can't wait to get start, I'll be going to Denver school of nursing and feel pretty good about the decision, except for how expensive it is, but it's the right choice for us - we absolutely loved Denver. I didn't get into Methodist, I was not able to finish the med term, and research class in time- the classes were just too hard to get into or the campuses that they were offered at were just too far from me. But yay, we are both starting- we should have a "bay area ladies going to nursing shool in the Midwest" party . In fact, our friends and family are throwing us a send off this sat night in Oakland if you want to drop by with a friend shoot me a pm if so!!

so when do you plan in moving? And are you driving, u-hauling or POD'ing your stuff? We ordered a relocube which is much cheaper than the POD and then plan on driving to Denver and camp along the way- really looking forward to it. Are you flying out to look for a place or doing it online? We searched online first then flew out to sign a lease, which I'm glad we did because, areas that I thought would be close enough to campus - WERE NOT :-/

    best of luck out there!

The school tells you if you have gotten any money such as grants or loans via federal government. Also, there is a scholarship department. I am still waiting as well to hear back from the departments. Sadly.
