Your number of NCLEX Q's to Pass?

I just got back from NCLEX boards. I am over here sobbing. I know I totally failed them. Great attitutde huh? I had to answer over 150 questions, when most people I know shut off at 75-80!!! I felt like I studied so hard but it didn't matter b/c all my questions had more than 1 'right' answer and you had to pick the 'best' one. I felt like I guessed the whole time. Maybe 10% of the questions were actual fact based questions. I feel so terrible. I have my A.D.N and no one could ever take that now, and I know I can retake this test, but I just feel like venting to you all. Over 150 questions seems like so much compared to others. Sorry to whine, but just needed to talk to someone other than people that know me. Thanks for listening and answering. Does anyone remember where yours stopped and you still passed? Or with 75 and failed?

hey, don't beat yourself up just yet. i've talked to not a single nurse that ever thought they passed boards. that's one tough test from what i understand. i have no personal idea but i'll let you know my opinion after tomorrow. i take it at 9 a.m. :chuckle

now, breathe and relax. easier said than done but try or you'll make yourself crazy.

Having the test shut off at 75 questions does not mean your friends passed. The computer will shut off at 75 if the student has already passed or already failed. If you are close to passing at 75, it will continue to give you questions until you either pass or fail.

So those whose test shut off at 75 could have passed or failed, just as you either passed or failed at 150. The number of questions really doesn't mean anything.

I'm sure you passed and will be celebrating soon!!

I passed, shut off at 75 questions. But, as the first responder to your post said, I've never met a single nurse who was sure she had passed. Everyone thinks they failed. Until you know for sure, I hope you will relax. Go out, have some fun and do something nice for yourself.

Thanks for all those responding. It's not like they can take my degree away which was my first goal. Plus, I can't officially leave my current position until Sept 1, so, I'm stuff where I am till then. I guess it's just more disappointment and failure than anything. I'll let everyone know when I find out either way. Thanks for the support :)

Dont give up hope. You never know until you either get the letter, or call them and see.

How long until you can find out?

okay, i'm back. and jtpruitt, i can now say that "easier said that done" is a load of crap. :chuckle that was a difficult exam under any circumstances. my computer shut off at 75. i have no earthly idea if i've passed or faild. six hours later, my stomach is still queasy but i'm just thankful that i didn't have to continue the torture past 75 questions. :chuckle

i feel for ya, jt. just hang in there. will you get your results tomorrow?
