WOOHOOO! done with the review!

by AmyD_RN

I just finished the saunders review where I read most of it just because I wanted the review but now I am on the cd and have no idea how to use it....LOL I am just going to go by content and do 10 questions from each area till I reach 100 and keep a log so I know where I was, does that sound right?

any suggestions?
AmyD

Amy the most important thing is for you to understand the questions. I was told to do 100 questions a day. The problem was I didn't understand some of the material. What good is 100 questions if you don't have the knowledge to answer them. I did Suzanne program and only did around 400 questions on the CD and the rest came from my book (Saunders comprehensive). I did only the area I was weak in. I also sign up for the NCSBN online course for three weeks. It helped as well. Do what you feel comfortable in. Just try your darnest to follow Suzanne program it truly helped me passed my second time around.

hi, AmyD. what i did was do a 100q's a day from Saunder's Content Area, study mode and after finishing the 100q's, i just bookmarked where i left off and picked it up from there the following day. that way, i knew i would go through everything on the cd. i also did the 3wk online NCSBN course and it helped a lot too. goodluck and Godbless.

AmyD, if you are going to look at Saunder's CD trainer, click on the content area and you will find various topics. What I did was clicked on the Cardio part which has 198 questions and did 100q's a day. That means on hte 2nd day, I already finished the CArdio subject and will have to start on the 3rd day Ear, which has 46q's and 62q's of Endo leaving behind the 100 for the next day. I did that to make sure that I complet the whole CD trainer. If you are going to do the exam or quiz mode, there will be a possibility that the questions will just repeat itself since it will be in a random mode...and I don't want to have the belief that I'm doing good for something that I have already came across with the first time...Do whichever way suits you...Goddluck and will keep you in my prayers......

how waqs the ncsbn online? how many questions does it offer, and were their questions similar to how the nclex is written. so far, i only found kaplan's questions to be closely similar to nclex questions. it also has like 1000 questions. has anyone tried to CAT mosby course online?

Hi there!

I am still pro random selection and using 'level of cognitive ability' as well as 'integrated processes' - My CD exams (100Q) have been varying from very manageable to horrid on this random mode. In the exam scores you see how the Qä's are spread out; majority in assessment, analysis, application, physiological integrity and meds.
I am trying excercise my thinking and analysis of situations. And like them changing and unpredictable.
I do 'content area' for review of specific area of weakness and there, the book and my flash card come into the game too.
My secret worry is that the NCLEX is nothing like Saunders - and for this I really need to know content as well as be able to apply the knowledge in various changing situations.

I think for now I am going to stick with what I am doing. I clicked on content then checked all areas. that is over 4000 questions, then when I am done with what I can do I bookmark where I finished then start there next time. That way I will see all question and not in any certain order. then later will maybe go over other areas other than content. arent they the same if you get all 4000+ questions anyways?
