Where do I start?

Students NCLEX

Published

Hello, I graduated from Nursing school in 2011, got married, relocated to another State and took my boards for the first time in the summer of 2012 and obviously I failed :( I have since had a baby but I am so ready to get into my field but I have this horrible fear and anxiety of not passing again. This causes me to self sabotage my studying. I am a hands on visual learner who needs help with organization of where to start my studies. I know to review the questions and rationales and to know why the question is right/wrong, know labs, infection control, safety is top priority, know when to delegate, dosage calculations, pharm....and I'm sure there are some I forgot off top of my head. :)

As someone with so much time past where is a good place to begin my self review? I want to retest this summer. Please help!

My suggestion would be to begin researching different review programs. I graduated in 2012, almost 2 years to be exact, and have failed the NCLEX twice. What I'm currently doing and recommend is Hurst Review. Of course find something that works for you! However, I think this review is a great tool for someone that has been out of school for a while as it really refreshes you on content. It also has a Qbank which is a really good balance of both content and questions.

I had the same exact fear and would constantly pull myself down and read FAIL, but I realized I had to pull myself together and change up the way I did things. Leave the fear behind as the only person that will stop you from getting where you want to be is yourself. I know it's hard, but if you can make it through nursing school, I'm most certain you can defeat this exam! Just have faith and believe in yourself. KNOW that you WILL succeed! I wish you well in studying!

Good luck and God bless! :)

I am in the same situation, but mine was a divorce and everything that comes with that. I am back on my feet and ready to put NCLEX behind me!!

Well the best of luck to you. I would start with the free library for sure. For me I am doing the nclex-pn , I took the nclex -pn for the first time and failed last month. I was so surprise with all the put in order things I had about 20 to 30 of those questions. I know how to do everything but the way they had things it make me rethink how to study this time for sure. Do your questions everyday and be patient with yourself. Nclex-pn 3000 has a free program just google it , and make a plan for yourself

Where do you reside? Maybe you should try to find a study partner. I am also planning on retesting in the summer. I reside in coral springs, Fl...if you live in florida maybe we can study together!
