You can sign up for KAPLAN and get one of their free assessment tests for free. NCSBN offers a review with sample questions. Price varies based upon the length of time you access the course. (NCSBN Learning Extension...NCSBN are the creators of the NCLEX).

As far as a "mock" NCLEX exam that has the computerized adaptive testing, the CAT system is rather complex so the best you are going to find is sample questions. The preparatory programs will not adjust the questions based upon your response to the previous questions like the formal NCLEX will. If you have good test taking strategies (these can be learned/developed by utilizing the right resources for your needs...learn to figure out what the question is actually asking and how to figure out the best answer from the choices) and strong content (basic material and concepts that are minimum competency for a nurse that you should have built up during nursing school) you will have the tools to be successful.

You can find the NCSBN learning extension information here: NCSBN Learning Extension . NCLEX preparation . Continuing Education for Nurses . Nursing Faculty Education
The test plans for NCLEX and other information to help you prepare for the NCLEX are found here; https://www.ncsbn.org/nclex.htm (on the right under key resources for NCLEX are links for the test plan, candidate bulletin, information about CAT, and FAQ's)
For free Kaplan resources: Pass the NCLEX Guaranteed or Your Money Back | Kaplan Nursing (on the bottom right it says "attend a free event" put in your ZIP code. Most are online seminars & practice tests. But be ware that you may receive contact from Kaplan as a result of using their free resources. However, in my opinion it's not a big issue as it is their product that many have found success with.)

    Good luck.

there is too MANY NCLEX resources that people are claiming it helps them pass, while some are saying, is worthless, some are saying it is just like the nclex exam, blah blah. My thing, you can buy all of the NCLEX resources in this world, and still fail. most of these companies just want to make money. I could publish a book called NCLEX, GUARANTEED TO PASS, and hired people to review on the book. My thing is everyone is individual, what works for one, might not works for another. Failing is depression, but it actually keeps you stronger, motivated, and having faith that no matter what, I am going to make it. Example, the inventor of light bulbs, how many times did he failed, and today we have lights. I will be retaking my nclex for the 2nd and last time in JN in march. I am totally convinced that the God i serve will surely see me through.
Secondly, there is no website that has the CAT practice , they all have questions. the same questions you see on nclex 3500, and the same you see on nclex 4000. all the same.
Thirdly, I am tired of sitting in this chair and studying all day, checking BON to see how many of my classmates pass, which is 90%.
All i can say, stop spending money, think, think, THINK, what can i do better. ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS YOU CAN LAY YOUR HANDS ON.All the content will be the SAME. just cuz you fail nursing school, you cant go to another nursing school to to see how they teach.. KEEP DOING YOUR BEST AND TRUST GOD.

    Hi
You may consider NCLEX-RN 10,000 by PrepU. It is CAT=computer adaptive testing.
It was referred to me. I'm going to try it. Ask me in 30 days what I think of it. LOL
I'd like to focus on my weak areas. And less focus on questions in my strong areas.
It is my understanding that one needs to have a minimum of a level 4+ before
taking the NCLEX. It is my understanding that a level 8 = 94% chance of passing NCLEX.

One of my professors in nursing school had us use this same resource to test our
    skills & abilities.

Try googling it You will find it.
Other key words: LWW or Wolters Kluwer or Lippincott to help you find it.
(I'd give an exact web addy, but I think allnurses frowns on that and I don't
    want to do anything inappropriate)
    GOOD LUCK

It is my understanding that good old-fashioned studying is what helps
one pass the NCLEX. I've heard so many students use a study resource and pass
and then the another student use the same exact study resource and fail.

    HAPPY STUDYING.

    Hi,
I think I opted for the "use it for a year" for $100.
You can "use it for less time" (3 months? 6 months? I forget exactly) and pay less.

My feedback about NCLEX 10,000 is this... it must be a competitor to Kaplan, Feuer, or other "NCLEX prep programs" because
while it is "CAT=computer adaptive testing". It was NOT like the NCLEX that started you out at a "normal" level and then decide if you pass or fail. It starts you at level 1 which felt like I was doing the simplest questions ever. Way too easy. Then as you continue, it graduates you to a higher level. I was told not to attempt the NCLEX til I was at level 4 and at level 8 it was 94% chance of passing the NCLEX.
Ok... so just start me out at level 4 at least and see if I'm successful.
OK....so just start me out at level 8 and see if I'm successful.
Nope... that isn't how their program works.
When I called, one of NCLEX 10,000 Customer Service Rep's advised me if I wanted to "move up the levels quickly" to do
quizzes with only 10 questions in them. I tried that but still it was taking me longer than I wanted to start getting
    more challenging questions.

I'm not saying it is not a good program. I liked it pretty well. It's just that I already had Kaplan and wanted a sample CAT
test before taking the real NCLEX. And NCLEX 10,000 wasn't suited for my particular needs, unfortunately.

By the way, I passed the NCLEX recently in 75Q and felt that Kaplan prepared me adequately.
    Be Well,
    FEM
