What's the WORST thing that can happen before & during NCLEX?

by aying

While preparing for NCLEX, anything can happen. Like death in the family, illness, break-up... I just want to know what happened to you and still managed to pass Here's mine...
2 months before my exam, my partner of 16 years (I'm 33) traded me with someone younger. I gave myself 2 weeks for (temporary) DABDA. Studied at starbucks from 10 am to 12 mn every weekdays. I cried whenever I feel the pain in between study periods, and forced myself to go back studying. I hid from our friends, and talked only to 3 people (my sis-in-law, my gay friend, and an ex-lover). I can't sleep at night, so when I don't have anybody to hug me to sleep, I take sleeping aids.
I took NCLEX (June 07) in 50 mins w/ 75 questions. Everything was insane, NCLEX was the only real thing, that's why I was SOOO focused when I took the exam.
I am undergoing DABDA again, and I'm in the Acceptance stage now. Life is not as colorful as before, but as I always say "This too shall pass."

the worst thing that happened to me is just hours b4 nclex where in there is no time to reschedule unless you pay another $200 at pearsonvue. the first time i took the test, I developed a really bad flu. couldnt get up but i have to, i was vomiting and was very headachy. my fever is high as well. but i still took the test---->failed!..the second time was 15 hours before the test. My son has been vomiting all night!. (tummy flu) I dont have sleep at all! although I tried to concentrate on the test, I just cant and again---->failed. I am about to take my test tomorrow but this whole month with recent CA fires, with us moving to the new apartment, and conflict with my inlaws (severe conflict that is getting worst and worst because I am not talking. I think they want me to fight back hehehe) and a death threat from my sis in law's newest BF (don't why tho)last night , I finally decided to reschedule my test until I will have the time tofinally think properly. Safety for me, my husband and the kids comes first.

Whew! Yours is harsh! And I agree, SAFETY comes first... NCLEX can wait... I will pray for you & your family... Hold on tight there... No matter how long your troubles will take, hang in there, one problem at a time...

the worst thing that happened to me was..

i had to breakup with my ex girlfriend, who i was with for almost 2 years of being together.. due to compatibility issues.. there are somethings that we just cant seem to agree upon..

bad thing is, she's taking the exam too.. on the same date as I AM, on the same venue too..

so i dont know if i did the right choice.. but i still have to keep my mind straight and be professional about it and study.. although it hurts just thinkin about it.. being without the person you love, thru thick and thin..

2 weeks left til the exam.

I too got dumped a month before my test date. It was hard I almost didnt bother to take my boards. I figured why bother. We had been together for almost 8 years and part of why I stayed in school was to make a better life for us both. But I made myself study and I made myself drive the two hours to where I was taking my test the night before, made myself check into a hotel for the night alone...watched chick flicks and cried my eyes out all night long...got up the next morning...took my test...one hour and tweny five minutes....75 questions and passed the first time...made me feel good to succeed even though I felt like my life was over and was in the "whats the sense" mode. That was over a year ago and I am happier then I have been in a long while. Good luck to you in whatever your ventures may bring....oh and one other thing....she has since passed her boards and works at the same hospital I do with her new gf....I just smile whenever I see either of them.
