What is wrong with me??? Pls help...

The first week doing Kaplan's question i was doing pretty good. Qbanks scores were at 55-65%. And now, a week til I take the NCLEX, I am having a hard time answering the questions and my grades are significatly decreasing?? Am I losing it or am I just not concentrating as much?? My confidence level is slowly declining........

Sounds like burnout maybe? Have you been studying/answering questions every day? If so, maybe would taking a day off to do something completely different and non-nursing related help?

Hey that's normal, take some time off. It's hard to feel under stress but just pull yourself together and you can make things happen!

That is exactly what happened to me. I couldn't understand it. I didn't know if it was burnout or maybe I wasn't doing enough. I only did about 50 questions a day, but I started about a month before graduation and did some questions every day.

I just took the NCLEX yesterday and can honestly say I don't know how much studying or practicing questions could have helped. It was just a very strange exam.

Just keep doing your questions and reading all the rationales. So far everyone I have spoken to has passed. Good luck to you!!

I did the same thing...started out, then got worse on the practice tests.....You are ready to take the exam. I found out what helped me the most was just reviewing...If you can get a hold of the HESI review book, that was excellent....Things were outlined, kind of like you would review for a nursing exam. The Mosby's NCLEX book has a similar section. Just look it over...you are not going to learn anything new now, but you will refresh things you forgot.....Don't put off taking the exam, I think people had a harder time then those that reviewed for 2-3 weeks and took it.

Good luck

I'm glad I saw this thread. I have been scoring mid-60s on Qbank, up until today: the three 25-question quizzes I gave myelf have been in the low 50s! I think you can get to a point where you actually over-analyze, rather than under-analyze and there's the burnout.

I'm testing in 12 days, plan to keep doing questions and tests each day, and am not going to let scores that go up and down bother me. Don't obsess over them, just take breaks and when you're ready to return, focus.

Don't put off the test. Chances are you're readier (is that a word??) than you think.

Thanks guys! Maybe I am getting burned out from all the questions. Is it just me or after a few questions of trying the "decision tree" you end up just answering the damn question without it??????

I can't seem to get out of the 53-59% range on the Kaplan practice tests. I am really starting to freak out because I have done at least 350 questions in the Q bank, plus all the questions I did when I took the Kaplan review class. I also took Test #1 in the other Kaplan question section and got in the 50's (75 questions). I habe also done about 500-600 questions total from Saunders and Mosby's (easier than Kaplan!). What am I doing wrong? I look over the rationales and try to absorb everything w/o memorizing. I just don't feel like I am making any progress. I take my NCLEX on July 27th and I am really freaking out!!!!

I know how you feel. If feels as though as the days get closer to the exam the worse I am doing with the questions. I guess all we can do is pray and hope for the best. 53-59% is not bad at all. Ive read alot of people's post stating that people pass regardless what they got in Kaplan.

Ive learned that I do worse when I feel like "i just want to get these questions over with so I can read the rationale." After reviewing, I noticed that Id miss the stupidist things because I dont take my time. I just hope I dont have that mentality when I take the NCLEX
