I have been active on this forum since March and I have noticed when people take the boards and pass they don't hang around and help those that are waiting to test. I really wish they would hang around and answer some questions since they have experience in preparing and taking the NCLEX. Even if they only stay for a month after the exam it would help.

I know people get sick and tired of answering the same questions over and over but as nurses we should have patience. I know what it feels like to answer the same questions over and over but I wish those that just took the exam would stay to help for a little while.

I've just noticed in the last month new people coming on asking questions and no one is really around to answer. A few months back, I remember threads would get several replies to help that person.

Just an observation I have made, am I the only one?

I test in less than 7 days...am I stressing????

Your post has 'struck a chord' with me (it's an English, UK term, hope you know what I mean) so I will make a point of answering some of the posts. You are quite right, we SHOULD stick around to help. I was fortunate to pass on my first attempt in April, got 265 questions and it took me 5 hours and 40 minutes!!

It's past midnight here right now but I'll be back tomorrow!

I just took the NCLEX last Thursday and I found out on Friday that I passed. Are there are questions I can answer to help ease your mind a bit?

I Just took the exam today. I think I passed. I hope I passed. I think my saunders book prepared me for the format of the questions, but I found It really hard. It shut off at 85 and I felt like freaking out. I took the NCLEX PN.

Thanks Letina for offering. I didn't really mean the post just for me but for everyone that is new asking questions. I'm glad your going to hang around when you can and answer questions. Those new ones will be greatful! As well as me!! I see people asking questions about Kaplan, NCSBN, Saunders etc and no one really answering their questions enough to make them feel like what they are doing is okay. I've been reading the boards for a while and have listened to everything everyone has said. Great advice here!!!

I'm just nervous about taking my exam. I guess there is really no way of knowing if your ready or not. I've been doing learningext.com and getting in the mid 60's - 70's. My friend let me borrow the Kaplan trainer and I'm getting 60's to 65's with that. I've searched on here to compare my test grades with everyone elses and it seems like I'm in the middle of the pack. I use the learningext and Kaplan to judge how I'm doing. Then I work on my weakness with other CD's like Saunders and Lippincott.

Dina~ Congrats!! How was the exam? How were you feeling a week before your exam and if you did any practice tests how were you scoring?

I know I shouldn't focus on scores, which I don't. I study with Saunders and Lippincott then I use Kaplan and NCSBN to see where I'm at with testing...etc...Does that make sense? I just want to see if I'm at least some what ready for the boards. I sound like a freakin nut case!!!

If you are using Saunders, as I recommend to everyone, and following what I keep stating, you should have no issues at all. Jumping around from program to program is not beneficial in my opinion. You need to try to do at least 3000 to 4000 questions, as well as review the rationale behiund each and every answer, both the incorrect choices as well as the incorrect answers.

As to why the nurses aren't hanging around the NCLEX discussion, they now have to worry about learning everything for their new jobs. The learning curve just begins when you start your first job, school only prepared you for the next steps.

Exactly what I was going to say. The nurses are trying to get acclimated in their new positions. Give them time, they will be back. And, good luck on your boards!!!

You have been wonderful in this forum. I thank you dearly for all your hard work and dedication to us. I just wish the new RN's would come back for a few weeks and help us poor people waiting to test. Sometimes it helps to hear how everyone is fairing with the NCLEX.

I bounce from CD to CD because I get bored with one. To me Saunders is really good but sometimes the wording confuses me and I get a mind block. If I do Lippincott or NCLEX3000 for some reason it flows better in my head. I've done at least 6,000 questions. More than I care to share! LOL....Probably more than that if I count studying for my exit exam.
