I really love this thread! We can all pass this September takers. 2brichielpn08 you're right, we will not go wrong if we really know our content. I'm done with Saunders and now doing the Kaplan course. And as I'm watching the videos i thought of reading the Saunders again when there are some topics that they are discussing that are very short and not so clear. I still love the Saunders as a content. I will sit on Sept 15th, so I still have 3 weeks to be a better test taker. gosh! this will be my second time, i should be more calm but i am just so nervous.

Exam cram sounds so good. I would do it if i still have time but right now i am just so packed with things to do so i will just stick with saunders and kaplan. Cheers to all the new future RN and LPN this coming September. Let's all be positive and remember to pray, read, pray, practice test and pray again.

So I ran 2 miles yesterday after I got my ATT and scheduled my test. I have to take the darn thing at 8am. I was so trying to avoid first thing in the morning again. I ended up taking last night off sort of. I'm pretty calm about all of this minus the tossing and turning in my sleep I did about 120 questions yesterday between ATI and lacharity and then the NCSBN. Next week is when I kick everything into full gear adding saunders and exam cram in. I jsut want to get it right this time. Question for you guys Im thinking of getting a hotel room the night before my test. The hotel would be less than 5 minutes from the testing center where as my house is 45 minutes. Is this a good idea or bad? Whats everyones thoughts? Heres hoping we all pass. Good luck September Group I'm praying for us all!!

For MH24: We're on the same time. Mine is 8am too, There's no slot for afternoon so no choice for me. I think getting a hotel is much better. Coz u will feel more relaxed knowing that your testing site is just around the corner. What ever will make you feel stress free, you should do it.

Jhowanna: I tried so hard to find an afternoon slot. Even went all the way into October just to see if there were any later times available. I guess Im just destined to take this test at 8am I think being closer to the testing site would make it easier on me. Then I wouldnt be so nervous about getting there and worrying about traffic. I dunno. My nerves are my biggest issue so anything to keep them in check. Good luck on your test!

Hey guys!! I am still waiting for my ATT . I guess this give me more time to study!!
2brichielpn08: hey to remember lab values do 3 a day. make flash cards and when u get up in the morning look at the 3 and through out the day! This will help you learn it. also write them down during the day come back to the cards to see if u got them correct! at the end of the day if u can remember them go to the next 3.. also wht review are u taking? it looks like hurst would help u a lot for ur weak areas

was it MH24 or ujones00 that i read was near passing in all the categories on their first nclex report? anyone i guess can answer this but im curious if you guys found the report helpful and if you are changing any studying because of it? i was near or above passing in all but 2sychosocial and pharm. ive kinda tried to focus on those every now and then but also know i need to make sure all areas are covered but have improved in both those categories in studying. just seeing if anyone else has thought about that report and what they are doing if anything or if you are just studying everything. thanks!

nrcolee6- It was me. I was near passing in all my categories by safety and infection control. To be honest with you I didnt find the score report helpful at all. It just told me that I needed work believe it or not in safety and infection control. Again a testament to how much I freaked out that day. It doesnt really break anything down unless Im missing something. What did you think? As far as changing my studying, the first time around I didnt review my Saunders comprehensive book at all. So Im using that this time. I also purchased lacharity, exam cram, and NCSBN. Im doing more questions and the questions im weak on as far as content im reviewing in saunders. Pharm I copied endings from the thread in hear and im making up flash cards with side effects although in that I was near passing. Im also not studying at home at all. Even tho its only my husband and I and the dogs at home its too much of a distraction. So a couple nights a week after work Im going to the library. Let me know what you think. Am I trying to do too much or not enough? And let me know what you thougt of your report.

Ok I thought the report wasn't very helpful either. Like it was interesting to see but didn't really provide me guidance on where to go because I want to improve in every area you know? I too didn't really review content the first time around...as bad as it sounds I thought I would be fine with Kaplan because they offered 100% money back and didn't realize til a week or so before that I didn't really have a great grasp of everything but since I was scoring in the 50%60s I figured I'd be fine. So I bought Saunders and had a few other review books and have gone overthose and made notes on diseases that I keep confusing etc. I bought LaCharity and really liked it! As well as I am now onto doing my Kaplan stuff again and bought NCSBN. So it sounds like we are doing similar things to prepare us for success As well as I too am now only studying at the library to ensure I am focused and without opportunity of distraction. Another thing I realized was I didn't allow myself enough time to study and when I did study I crammed and studied for 6-8 hrs a day for 3 wks. I exhausted myself and wasn't taking in anything I was learning. This time I started at like 2 hrs a day and now depending on my study schedule do 3-4 hours of focused study and am finding that nice because I am not exhausted and am really understanding rationales etc. So I don't know if that helps at all.

Have you scheduled a date yet? I am testing Sept 2! The past two days I had eh ok study days but today I scored a 71% on QT6! and am stoked! Although I took QT6 the first time around which was almost 2 months ago and got 59% I never really thoroughly went through the rationales so some questions I remembered but am still ecstatic that I'm making improvement! So more and more I am building confidence and realizing I can and will do it!

I was also near passing in all! I decided to go over each section of the nclex plan using the Hogan nclex book and once i get to physiological integrity: physiologogical adaptation i will read and reinforce it with hurst! So far I have done basic comfort care , safe effective care and tonight i will be finishing health promotion and maintence! I am doing questions as i go along and notice that my scores are increasing. also when i get to physiologogical adaptation i will add pharm according to what system I am on. so far so good it take a little less than a week to finish each section!
