Hey Everybody!!!
I am taking this exam for the 2nd time as well. The first time i used kaplan... Kaplan was great but I realized i was missing core content! So this time around I am using Hogan Nclex review and Hurst! I am also using exam cram for the stimulated exam to see where I am on a CAT exam! My first time i took it was July 18 and I've been studying since July 20th! Today i felt like giving up because i am starting to feel overwhelmed!! I am looking to sit again the begining of Sept!! i wish everyone the best and keep us posted on ur progress!!! Remember do atleast 100 questions a day!!! We will conquer the nclex devil!!!

im with you ujones00 today wasn't the greatest studying day so im trying to relax and have a better day tomorrow. try not to get overwhelmed. take a deep breath andremind yourself it will all work out. i know it's easier said than done but when i realize im getting overwhelmed i make myself take time off because i dont want to defeat the purpose of studying. hang in there. relax tonight and get back at it tomorrow! we can do it!

have you received your att?? i got mine last week and thought i might be able to test next week but it was all full in 4 testing centers until sept 1. so i hope you get yours soon so you can pick your date!

I agree with you nrcollee and ujones. I myself is so exhausted for the day to study. I am really having a headache all the infos are so overwhelming. So its now time to relax and enjoy this wonderful night. August is so full already in Islandia, NY. actually when i scheduled my test date September is almost full too. I didnt get a good time for my test i wanted to have an afternoon sched but the only available time for the week is 8am, no choice for me.. So i need to practice being an early person now.

wow this has come to be a really supportive thread thanks everyone for all the wonderful advice. I hope all of pass this time... does everyone have a date set up already? I know some of us dont have the ATT yet but what about the others? I'm hoping to take it on sept 4th that way i can get away for labor day and come back and check the "pearson vue trick.."

does anyone know how exam cram works? after reading the threads i went out and bought it. i just finished the cram master simulated exam and it ranked me at "above average"... must be a mistake cuz my brain hurts and feels empty! nursing school was fun and challenging.. the nclex is just torture!
i've also noticed that after doing ?'s on the computer for a long period of time, i start getting dizzy...

well, happy studying

I love this thread!! I failed the nclex the first time around in which i used Kaplan and i am scheduled to retake it sept. 9. eek~ 9.9.09 hope thats a good sign!! >.< This time I used my kaplan refund to do two 3hrs tutor sessions with my kaplan instructor in which she helped me alot on how to answer the questions. Then, I watched some of the content videos in kaplan...which takes forever. Im trying to just watch the parts where i need more information and content review on. Also, i did 100% of the qbank questions to the point where i memorized the answers but i think that helped a lot with my content review too. I plan to do finish the Prioritorization and delgation book before my test date. I tried to read all of the saunders book..but i feel like i don't learn the info and i end up falling asleep lol. The random fact throwing thread is great. I copied and pasted a lot of info and printed them to read over for content review. Also, if you guys don't know already try this website:

http://nurse.nonoy.net/2008/12/free-...ractice-tests/

I think these questions are great for content review and to help prepare for the nclex. THe drills are a must. I got through up to drill 6 already and felt like i learned alot. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! We can do this!!!

I'll be taking the NCLEX-RN for the first time on Sept. 9th and I'm nervous as hell! I've been reading Saunders... I'm at chapter 53 already. Somehow I find it difficult to remember all the meds but I'm trying! I also answer questions on Nclex3500 (a friend recommended it to me). I find it really useful, especially since the questions are more difficult than the ones in Saunders. I really hope I pass this the first time because I don't want to subject myself to all this torture (aka reviewing) all over again if I fail.

I as well am going to be taking NCLEx for the 2nd time. I haven't set a date or applied for my ATT yet. It's still fresh for me (only 1 week since I failed). THe day I found out, I got right back into studying. I went back to Saunders which I didn't use that much, I'm waiting for exam cram and LaCharity's books to be delivered in the mail. Once I do all Saunders I'm going to do all exam cram and then purchase the 3 week NCSBN questions. If I stick to this plan I should b fine. Does this sound like a good plan?
