Want to schedule but NO AVAILABLE DATES?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Okay, I am totally freaking out here. My ATT will expire on Aug. 5, 2013. I am planning to schedule now via telephone but I've tried checking out at pearsonvue.com to see what dates they have available and I can only see there Aug 19 as an available date. I'm very scared right now that if I place a call to schedule they will tell me I cannot take anymore because they are no available dates. Anyone here that can assure me that I don't have to worry?

Try to take a deep breath. Check online EVERY HOUR or two for available test dates. There are test takers who cancel and dates become available within a blink of an eye. The entire month of July was closed in my city, three adjacent cities, and the closet state. I continuously check for three days, 2 am, 5 am, 8 am, 11:30 am, 3:15 pm, 10:30 pm, etc. You get the point. At least three dates with various times became available in July.

I dare not tell you you should have planned better, its not Pearson Vue's fault, blah, blah, blah. How therapeutic would I be as a near future RN to someone who is panicking. :nurse:

Unfortunately, you were not completely aware of the policy regarding the ATT expiration date. Its ok. WE ALL make small mistakes or misinterpret language, directions, policies, etc. Just diligently keep reviewing Pearson Vue webitsie. You may just find an available date where someone canceled. Best wishes!:)

Thanks a lot, buddy. I'll be doing what you suggested. You're comment helped a lot in calming down my nerves. Hey you should try Mental Health Nursing as a profession. ;)

Awww, you're so nice. You are more than welcome. Mental health nursing hmmmm, I'll look into that. I was on my way to Law School prior to Nursing. I just like for EVERYONE to be happy. :) Please keep us posted.

Don't know about everyone but I'd like to inform you that you certainly made me happy. Good luck with your career. Ok, I'll give updates if I somehow manage to solve this problem of mine. Thanks again!

How funny teacher08, I was going to law school before nursing too, but then decided that I didn't think I had enough self discipline to do all the required studying for law school and went to nursing school instead ... yeah, yeah, yeah I guess you could say I didn't do much research before I made that decision. But I am here now, and HAPPY, I have no idea how I could have ever considered doing anything else ... :geek:

Just like some of you said, there are new dates that opened just now ready for the taking. But now I can't place a call to pearson vue to schedule my exam. Kept getting a busy signal. Anyone experience this kind of problem?

If you can, schedule the first available date even if it's after the deadline.

Then pester both Pearson Vue AND your BON. See if you can get an earlier testing date for the former. And see if the latter can grant you an extension on your ATT...but do that NOW, don't wait until August 4th to pick up the phone.

Best of luck.

Can you just schedule it online? When I scheduled mine, I had to do it online because when I called they told me there were no available times the day I wanted to test, but I was able to schedule for the day and time I wanted online.

I've never called Pearson Vue. I've always scheduled my exam online.

I cannot schedule online since I'll be taking NCLEX at international testing center. I am instructed to call the given phone number.

Something similar happened to me when I went to take the N-Clex in February. Had a job lined up, and was to start orientation, but couldn't find an appointment from Maine to Philadelphia before my job start date. I kept checking the Pearsonvue website, like multiple times a day, and sure enough, a spot opened up four days before my job started. I think people schedule it out, and when the date approaches, cancel and push it back farther. My advice to you is to keep checking the Pearsonvue site for all the locations within driving distance.

I truly believe law school would have been much easier. I guess nursing is what God planned for us. I NEVER would have chosen nursing as a profession. God just lead me down this path as a third career. RN program full scholarship, free books, and NCLEX exam paid for too. What a wonderful blessing! I guess I couldn't run from nursing or bargain with God about going into another field because He gave me everything I needed on a PLATINUM platter.:) I just love the Lord because He IS FOREVER faithful in HIS word and HE LOVES me. Wishing you a spectacular nursing career.

For those wondering if I like nursing, despite not selecting it as my first career choice.....I truly truly enjoyed clinicals' and will keep you posted on my future career as a nurse.

PS.... I received a waiver for the LSAT too :)

It is also not just NCLEX students that use Pearsonvue testing centers. All levels of EMTs (there's 3 levels) and the PA students alse use the testing centers for their final tests. I wouldn't be surprised if doctors, dentists, medical assistants, and any other licensing program uses the testing center too. I imagine other people who need to take tests can use the testing centers too.

When I did my paramedic test, I had the choice of the next day or 1 month later. I chose the month later. As soon as anyone gets their number, they should schedule a testing date. I think for my basic EMT, I chose two weeks later but I tested in January for the basic compared to getting my verification to test in June and testing in July for paramedic.
