Hello AN,

I am currently studying for my NCLEX! I graduated in August and have be studying since July. I completed the VATI and got the green light (YAY) and now I have completed almost the whole Uworld question bank. My scores have been gradually improving since starting the exams.

For those who have taken the NCLEX, how did Uworld compare? Do you feel you can use Uworld as your main source of studying? I average a 65% on the Qbank and am feeling pretty good! I want to get this whole NCLEX thing over with but unfortunately my paperwork is still being processed by the BON (insert eye roll)

Thanks all you nurses/future nurses

UWorld is comparable to the NCLEX-RN. I think it is an excellent resource. I wrote my exam earlier this month and passed with the minimum number of questions. As others have said about UWorld, the rationales are key. I supplemented with Saunders and reviewed old class notes on Pathophysiology, and med/surg. I wish you the best of luck.

Thank you! Congrats on passing what a huge accomplishment! When I review I look at rationales for the right and wrong answers. I have a notebook full of notes from Uworld! I also use Saunders when I need more clarification. Sometimes I feel like I'm not doing enough but the success stories from Uworld are great to hear.

I graduated in August and did VATI as well, even though for us it wasn't a requirement, since the board didn't like the idea. I finished it in 2 weeks, started uworld, completely all of those questions twice, read a Kaplan book cover to cover and did 2600 questions from Saunders. I test tomorrow morning!

Good job!! That's exactly what I did - made notes on the rationales, then reviewed them a couple of times before writing the exam. The only information I memorized was lab values. Everyone is different, but for me, writing/typing out the rationales reinforced the concepts. It sounds as though you are preparing very well. I hope you don't have to wait too much longer. I completely understand the feeling of wanting to get the exam over with. Hang in there. Sending positive thoughts your way!

Best of luck Mandy0728!

I used UWorld along with Hurst Reviews, these were my two main study resources.

UWorld is an excellent learning tool, it gives you questions at that high level of analysis that you will see on your NCLEX, as I did on mine. It sounds like you are preparing very well at 65% on Qbank and the fact that you say you feel confident is so so important, I really cannot stress this enough. I averaged 67% on the Qbank in the weeks leading up to my exam and my confidence increased steadily coming up to exam day (you'll be nervous but this is normal!). Continue to practice, and you'll do great! I didn't try to crank out as many questions as I could per day, I did maybe 20-30-40 questions a day, and I focused my time on understanding and learning from rationales. I also had a study book where I would write Qbank notes.. so helpful! (passed in 75 qs)

Good luck!

This is awesome to hear how Uworld is a good product. I'm using Uworld along with Kaplan and scoring 63%. I have a ways to go and I do @ least 75-100 questions a day. Good luck to everyone testing soon.

Thanks everyone!! I usually do between 75-125 questions per day then I go back and review to make sure I understand. The Uworld people said they do not have a certain percentage to hit but, the people scoring 56% and better are passing the nclex

I used UWORLD and LaCharity for my NCLEX-RN passed with flying colors. UWORLD is hands down the best NCLEX review.

Definitely Uworld & LA Charity! I Passed with 85 Questions (Nclex RN)
