hello all,

i recently just graduated and so now i am on the journey of the evil nclex! (LOL)

Anyways, I have purchased BOTH KAPLAN and HURST REVIEW.

My school made me get kaplan and i chose to also buy hurst due to the content review.

I struggled through nursing school, so obviously i feel like i need to review core content.

I have a question for those of you currently studying or those who already passed the Nclex using both or either of these study tools.

How did you schedule your time with studying (also how many hours per day, etc)?

Which did you find more helpful? (kaplan vs hurst)

How did you combine both if you used both?

I am watching hurst videos then doing kaplan ques related to that topic.

Need some help and feedback to get myself organized and feeling confident!

THANK YOU TO ANYONE FOR THEIR FEEDBACK!

I am in the same boat!! I graduated in December and my school provided the Kaplan review and I paid for the hurst the following week. I am taking my test on January 29 and this is how I am studying. I took each section of the hurst, I am studying one section per day (endocrine, GI) and two days on heart and kidney. I am studying 5-6 hours a day with Saturday and Sundays off :). On Saturday i take one question trainer from Kaplan. It is taking discipline but I have a"days until NCLEX" sign above my desk. Good luck. B

While I did not use either of these. I did use a two pronged approach like you and found it very helpful. One method will help fill the gaps of the other. Good luck!

hello @ebailey1218, i am wondering when you do each section and study for it.. how do you go about it? you watch the video a couple times? do you use other sources to study that section? do you just reread the outhands/notes? thanks!

Well I start by reviewing the hurst pages. I focus in on topics that I am fuzzy about. I take those topics and do some you tube searches and find videos and animations. I then do a fake lecture Out loud (my dogs should take the NCLEX) without my notes to see if I really understand a topic. Finally I will go to Kaplan and take 50-75 integrated tests topic specified - today I was on cardiac So I did cardiovascular questions. I commit 3-4 hours a day to each topic. Long story short. I utilize several different methods to study.

I am also taking one question trainer a week in Kaplan to build up my test taking stamina. My NCLEX is three weeks from today!!!
