Took the NCLEX today

  1. I took the NCLEX today. The computer stopped after the 85th question, which is the minimum, and my heart just sank. So now I'm feeling depressed and I still have to wait more than a week to find out if i passed. Has anyone else taking it and the computer stopped on the minimum number of questions? If so did you pass?

Tim, I have seen many people ask the same question & they passed I'm sure you did fine. Try not to stress too much while you wait for the results.

Be positive about yourself Tim. Think that you have passed and you will pass.

    Hi Tim,
I took mine today also. Mine stopped at 85 too. I felt like I didn't know a thing. That was the hardest test I've ever taken. I started bawling when I got to my car. I'm scared to death! It was very long hour and a half drive home.

On a more positive note, I was offered two jobs today! Now I just need to decide which is best (IF I passed my NCLEX!!). I told them what happened with the test and they said, "That sounds pretty good." So, hopefully we BOTH passed!

    Positive thoughts:

    WE PASSED! WE PASSED!

    I hope!

    Hi Tim,

I took the nclex in June and passed. The computer stopped right after question number 85 and I was like,

"wait, I need more questions, lol............" Really, I felt for sure that I failed and I was so upset that I was in tears all the way home. Thankfully, I didn't have to wait that long, took the test on Tuesday and got the letter that I passed that Saturday. Everyone kept telling me, "don't worry, you passed" but that didn't help my nervousness any. Hang in there and I'm not going to say, "don't worry", who doesn't worry about passing?

Isn't the fact that it stopped at the minimum a good sign? Won't you be given more questions if you are answering most incorrectly? That is what I heard anyway!

Good luck to you- I'm sure you passed!!!!!

    Tim,

Try to think positive, I know it's hard when your forced to play the waiting game. We are all rooting for you!

    Tim,

A friend of mine just completed her classes and her instructer told her that stopping after the 85th question is almost always a very good sign.

Of the three nurses I spoke to at work, all three stopped at question 85 and all passed.

    Okay Folksey-Dokseys. RELAX!!!!!!!

The good news is statistically your odds of passing are PHENOMENAL!!! The way the test is set up is that if you are showing deficiencies in a particular area, the computer gives you more questions about it --at that level you seem to be struggling with--until you answer correctly. Then, you move up to the next level question.

So, as it works, since you got the minimum number of questions, the odds have it that you needed fewer- if any - peripheral questions to show you know your stuff. If it helps, ALL of the people I personally know who have ended the test at the minimum number of questions passed.

Good luck, breathe deep and hugs to you all!
