also... i just talked to my nurse manager and i start orientation monday!!! it is a med/surg, renal, and respiratory floor!! orientation is 6-8 weeks! ahh will that be enough time?? they said if i need more time they'll give it to me! i'm so excited! just thought i'd give you guys another update!
congrats!!! see, you shoulda listened to me :d

welcome to nursing, and to med-surg! i had an 8 week orientation, told i could have longer if needed, but the reality of hospital staffing is they might just try to trim down your orientation, not extend it. stick to the full time they promised you, and remember that you're still going to feel like your floundering some of the time (ranging from lots of the time to not much of the time and back again) for quite some time after orientation is over. diving in with both feet instead of wiggling your toes in the water

    congratulations again

I did not take Kaplan or anything.. I bought the Saunders NCLEX RN Third addition... It has over 1800 questions in it... I reviewed each section and did EVERY question. I also practiced questions from the CD everyday.... it took my about a week and a half to go through the whole book...

As a "by the way", I'm in NY and we've had only two cases of a dusting each time. ONE inch was our biggest snow this season, and I can't even impress upon you how weird THAT is. We're usually buried under mountains of snow by now, but in recent years, it's getting less and less. I personally believe in global warming!
HEY! I live in WY and we are already 10 inches above normal (with 'normal' only be calulated for the past 10 years ) and have had snow every weekend since the middle of Dec. I personally will send you some if you'd like. Global Warming Global Snorming!!

To the original poster! I agree with advise you've received already... BREATH! You're going to drive youself crazy :roll that is what the NCLEX is all about!

OK soo I know everyone freaks out after they take NCLEX.... Everyone says they feel like they failed!! Well i really feel like I failed. I graduated with a 4.0 from a BSN program in December and I just took the NCLEX yesterday.... i was so anxious during the test. Before the test began I prayed it would shut off at 75... then as I grew closer to question number 75 I was begging it not to shut off!! I felt like I needed time to redeem myself..

I started off with fairly "easy" questions.. Well they seemed easy but I didn't know the answers... I could tell the test was getting easier.. then harder... then easier...harder ect.... I then got a lot of priority questions at the end (around 15-20)... but no "experimental" type questions. I had maybe 6 check all that apply. But nothing too strange... Then at 75 it did shut off...

Hello I just tok my NCLEX at 9am yesterday and am going totally psychotic, I shut off at 75 also do you have any reliable stats on pass fail at 75?
    CT TOM
I went home and looked up the only questions I could remember.. Which was only like 10... i missed probably 8 of those... I don't know if I am only able to remember those questions because I struggled with them or what.. But now I am stressing out so bad...

    :uhoh21: STRESSING!!!
