Taking nclex-rn end of sept.2017

Students NCLEX

Published

Hello everyone,

I am taking my nclex-rn end of september. I recently started doing hurst review. I took the 1st qbank test out of 4 just to measure where I am at. I got a 59% on the first test. I started hurst review and I like how they explain the core contents and concepts clearly. I am only half way through the videos and contents. Once I finish the videos hopefully by the end of the week, I will update this thread with my 2nd attempt score (hopefully I can achieve 70% and higher) if not then I will continue to re-watch the videos and take test 3 and 4 while also reviewing U-world. I have heard a lot of great things with u-world and I cant wait to incorporate what I've learned from Hurst with it. How is anyone else preparing for their nclex? I just feel like I am never ready... :( Has anyone passed the nclex recently? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I've been doing Saunders and Lipoincott Passpoint. So far I've been focusing on my weak contents. Although sometimes I get a bad score on Saunders book, I go back and read the chapters and I feel like it really helped. I also like passpoint because I'm usually on my phone and I get to do it there. I also have LaCharity and just got Uworld.

How are you using Lippincott Passpoint?

I mostly do quizzes. As the mastery level goes up and the harder the questions. I study Saunders chapters and then I go to passpoint and practice those topics. Hopefully it's working haha. I want to pass this test so bad haha!!

I'm just doing the quizzes right now as well. Are you doing comprehensive or specific topics

I do specific at the moment but I'll probably do comprehensive once I'm done with Saunders chapters. How are you doing with the quizzes??

Not to bad I'm just now getting to the point where I can do 50 questions

That's good. I used to do 50-150 a day but based on experience it's more of quality over quantity

I love it! The quizzes are awesome. You can't choose more than one topic with the quizzes. So you'll be able to target your weak topics. Also it's has a graph that show you how you've been doing throughout the months. You can do exams which mimics the nclex. I did 3 of them and all got the passing standards. Unfortunately my subscription ended. I got it through my school and got the 6 months subscription I believed. By the way the rationales are very good. It also has a remediation link which will have the explanations your will need.
