Taking Nclex December 2005

I am sitting for the Nclex in December 2005. Any supportive hints? I am studying with Saunders, Mosby CAT and NClex made incredibaly rediculous. I am very nervous! Thank you for any words of encouragement!

Which exam, the RN or the PN? Two different strategies for preparing as well as different material covered.

Hey I am taking mine pretty soon as well. I won't say when. I said I'm not telling anyone. I'll just let everyone know when I pass. This is my second time. Personally, I think that NCLEX was nothing like Saunder's. Everyone says it is...So, this time I am using a little of Saunder's, Mosby, Kaplan, and Medspub to study. A friend of mine did the same thing. She went last month. She passed on the first try. And, she says she thinks thats what helped her. And she agreed that Saunder's seemed a little more easier than boards. But, different strokes for different folks. I feel as long as you do about 100 questions a day, you'll be fine. I'll pray for you, and you do the same for me.

I agree with LavaNurse! The Saunders review books are WAY easier than the NCLEX. I did everything with that damn book and CD. I read ALL the rationales (right and wrong) and even looked up things I didn't understand and when I was done with the ENTIRE book (let's say there is 1200 questions in the whole book) I had only gotten like 250 wrong, which means I got WAY more right. I took the NCLEX a failed. I thought I understood and had my stuff down, but apparently I was wrong.

It's luck if you ask me, but like LavaNurse said "Different strokes for different folks. I feel as long as you do about 100 questions a day, you'll be fine."

Best of luck and keep us posted!

This is going to be an interesting process for me when my turn comes for the NCLEX. I've heard so many different things like such and such is easier than the NCLEX and Saunder's is harder than NCLEX questions and really prepared me well!

Suzanne has an excellent plan from what I've understood. I only say that because I'm not anywhere near that point yet and haven't used it yet. But you need to follow her stuff to the letter... not do bits and pieces of your own thing.

I've watched so many students on here over the last few years. The ones who really work Suzanne's plan seem to just need to take it once.

I hope that I'm not upsetting anyone, this is just from careful observation over the period of a few years.
