Studying Meds for nclex-pn

Nursing Students NCLEX

In school we didn't really learn meds/ weren't tested on them. I'm retaking my nclex-pn. so restudying! What's the best way to study meds? I started studying classifications and then some meds with in those. But now I'm thinking maybe its better to go by each med and maybe a few things about it. I'm using index cards. Anyone figure out the way that was MOST effective for them? I'll give it a go. I was hit with A bunch of meds on my test I didn't know, nor have ever seen. Don't want to have that happen again. Thanks!!!

If you go to the NCLEX forum area, there is a thread where someone made pharmacology flashcards

I don't know about the PN exam, but the NCLEX-RN only had the generic names so I'd make sure I knew those

ps, you'll get many more replies to this if you move it to the NCLEX area

Remember the NCLEX is a different type of test - one that you have probably never experienced before. What you will be tested on is anyone's guess.

Stick to the NCLEX study guides and don't focus too much on meds - if you know the basic classes and mechanisms of action you should be ok
