Studying for NCLEX-RN

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi everyone. I am preparing to write my nclex exam and have been preparing for the past 2 months using Saunders, Kaplan, Lacharity and NCLEX Mastery app. I haven't been doing so well in the practice exams. I'm ranging anywhere from 50-60, sometimes 70, and rarely in the 80s. Has anyone scored this low and still passed nclex?

Any tips and help on how to critically answer questions? I am feeling very hopeless lately due to these scores.

I'm using the kaplan decision tree answering questions but sometimes it's hard to answer even with their 10 critical thinking pathways!

Yes I averaged in the 60-65% range with Kaplan... I passed nclex last week, 75 questions. I felt Kaplan prepared me well, and the questions were constructed similarly to NCLEX. I used nclex mastery app to get more experience with select all that apply questions, because I felt Kaplan didn't have enough of them. I don't know any if my classmates who ever consistently scored above the mid 70s for Kaplan.

Thanks for your reply. That makes me feel better especially as I'm doing the questions right now. The kaplan I'm doing is the nclex rn premier with 2 practice tests. Did you use that one too? The book states that I should be best prepared if I score above 70% on the big exam at the end of the book and should review if there's anything lower..

Congrats on passing!
