Obtunded- less aware, kind of out of it
Coma- nonresponsive to stimuli
lethargic- tired or fatigued
Stuporous-dazed

Not sure of the exact answers you were wanting for that but thats what I remember!!!!

And heck yeah we can continue, I don't test til July 7th....Looking forward to more questions...Here's one from me...

Name the things involved in the Glascow Coma scale!! Plus how would your score someone? What score indicates that they are in a Coma?

1- Cystic fibrosis Age 1, 1st day in the hospital
2- Galactemia Age 6days, 1st day in the hospital
3- Intussusception 6 months 1st day

Name the things involved in the Glasgow Coma scale!! Plus how would your score someone? What score indicates that they are in a Coma?

Glasgow coma from my own understanding assess for MOTOR, VERBAL RESPONSE and SENSORY FX
Glasgow coma scale score range from
15-0.
A pt with a score from
3-8 indicate they are in COMA

Which child will you assign to an obstetrical nurse:
2- Galactemia Age 6days, 1st day in the hospital

Rationale: Because it's a life threatening situation if not prevented earlier which can lead to coma.

A pt is admitted to medical surgical unit due to internal bleeding. Heparin is prescribed for the pt. Before heparin therapy, In what doses should heparin be started?

A- small doses followed by higher doses
B- higher doses followed by smaller doses

what is the most reason for not given heparin by IM and PO?

what is the best route to give heparin?

Heparin is normally given in low to high doses, to act prophalaxisly in the prevention of thrombosis.
You do not give PO doses of Heparin because it is not absorbed that way, and you do not give IM because of an increased risk for hematoma in the injection site. Heparin is best when given either IV or SubQ..
