So confused

  1. 0 So i am planning to purchase Saunders' yellow book but is torn because it is based on the 2010 test plan. Would it still be worth it to purchase it? Has anyone used the Kaplan 2013-2014 book? Is it better? Thank you to anyone who can help me to decide

I used both to study, I found the Saunders book much more helpful as it covered content and not just the strategies as the Kaplan book did. The content of nursing education hasn't changed drastically in 3 years. The Saunders book was only like $45 and the Kaplan strategies book was only $25, both off amazon. Buy both! It would be a good investment!

Do you think it's still alright to buy the saunders one even if it's based on the 2010 test plan?

Yes it'll be ok. Someone made a very valid point to me because I kept worrying about the new test plan. The actual info hasn't changed (example TB has the same the same treatment it had in 2010 as it does in 2013) Core content. isn't changing. It's just the percentages that are the only thing changes, long story short you may get more or less questions pertaining to a certain client category.

I have both books. Just brought The kaplan book last week and found it very helpful with test taking skills. They had very good tips. I used the Sunders book through nursing. I Think you had said something b/f about SATA questions well kaplan had some great tips how on how to approach those type of questions.

Its all the same at the end of the day the new test is just increase in certain percentage of topic (1%). But the content are still the same its not like they added in some new nursing content.
