Should a take or re-sched? 7 days to go b4 nclex and panic mode

Hi everyone! Need your advice whether to take nclex or re schedule? I'm such in a panic mode right now..can't sleep well for the much dreaded nclex exam and having headaches.. i'm scheduled this June 20th

my scores from the kaplan q trainer 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 are : 69%,68%,60%,63%66%,64% and 71%. Saunders scores 63-80% per content and in client needs 83%-88%.

Actually the SATA worries me a lot because i'm not that good..and also pharm..my weakest subject...i had 55-66% (yikes) on it.

Akkk i dunno if i'll make it through this exam..any advice from the experts? Thanks

Well, I'm definitely not an expert because I am also scheduled for the 20th and have been having second thoughts too. I say we should just bite the bullet and take it!! We could probably postpone the test indefinitely because there is always more to learn, right?

Personally, I think it's almost impossible to score higher than the 80% range on the practice tests. I have been using the Saunders CD and average around 65-70%.

I'm going to keep practicing, re-reading my notes from nursing school, and try to relax on the 19th. Just remember that MOST people (87% according the NCLEX people) pass it on their first try. We can too!

Without a doubt I think you should take the NCLEX!!! Your Kaplan scores look pretty good! From what I've read on these boards, even people who had mid-high 50s on Kaplan have passed. Your scores are almost all in the passing range according to Kaplan and your score on QT7 is GREAT! Good luck!!

I don't know about the score percentages but definitely pull yourself together and realize that you CAN do this! Being prepared is essential but I think a big part is also the attitude. I went into both my LPN and RN exams knowing there was no way I wasn't going to be successful. I finished with the min questions and while the tests were challenging I was confident the entire time that I had passed. Wishing you well.

hey thanks for the advice...

when i got my q trainer results..i felt soooo bad because i only got ONE 71% percent and the rest is below that score. My friend said "that's too bad you only got one 70%" and even felt down when I've read the kaplan book to aim for above 70%...(in all q trainers?). That's why i was thinking of re-scheduling....and prolong the torture hehehe

is it true that one can get 30 SATA's? I hope i wont get that much...

I got around 20 SATA's on my test and still passed. I think you should take the test. Most people go into the test with anxiety and then leave the test with a sense of impending doom. I went in feeling pretty good about myself and then left feeling completely stupid. That's the way the test is designed. It will keep giving you harder questions until you are at a 50/50 rate of correctly answering the questions. It then judges, with 95% certainty, whether you are at or below the pass rate. If you are above, you pass; below, you fail. This is why most people walk out feeling defeated. Most people aren't used to scoring 50% on tests. Keep your head up, study, and the day before the test RELAX. Go in their confident and slay that beast called NCLEX.

You are capable. smart. competent. prepared. strong like mulan.

Take the test. If I can do it, you can do it!

Read the "Walking the line" post. I was freaking out, too. Pull yourself together and stop taking those tests that make you feel like you are incapable. Confidence is at least half of the battle.
