Saunders 4th Edition CD

I am not taking my boards until around late September or early October and I am also doing the Hurst Online Review and thinking about doing the Kaplan Q-bank trainers, but I did the assessment test yesterday for the Saunders 4th edition and I got a 56% and I am EXTREMELY getting discouraged. I looked at the calender they gave me and I started reading those chapters and doing the questions at end. I took a 100 question exam today and I got a 57%. I would look back on some of those questions that I missed and think HOW IN THE WORLD DID I MISS THAT? I am trying to stay positive and stay focused, but my anxiety levels are running high!

are you done with your content or did you just answer your cd without reading your content areas? try to read and then take the test after every chapter. that way you can focus on the rationale of the test questions after you answer.

HOLA!

Don't even worry about the score...as long as you're above 0% then it's all good! Instead, take time out to review why you either got a question right or wrong. Besides, from what I've gathered, NCLEX questions seem to revolve around the rationale of a question, therefore, focus on the content and not percentage.

Also keep in mind that the average nursing graduate has about two weeks of nursing skill under their belt. You heard right, two WEEKS, not two YEARS which is the average school time! Crazy! But I can attest to that! So it's totally natural for a lot of us to only know half the content and thus only score in the 50's or 60's of these comprehensive tests.

So just breathe a sigh of relief that you have one test down and prepare yourself for more review. As long as you concentrate on the WHY of a question then you'll be in good spirits when it's time for the BIG MAMA of all tests!

Good luck studying!!!

I did the assessment test first to see my weakest areas and I have been reading the chapters that the calender said and doing the questions at the end. I was really weak in pharm, but now it has improved almost 7%. I am doing a 100 questions a day though.
