Saunders

I'am a reviewer for the NCLEX and I teach MS, I aced NCLEX at 75 questions. Saunders is a good review material, But when it comes to doing sample exams... Saunders sucked, it does'nt have the level of difficulty like the nclex exam, try using Kaplan, Davis and lippincott, but no saunders... for practice exam...

I agree---I mainly used Davis and LOVED it. Felt it was very similar to the Nclex I took. I did use Saunders to prepare for my nursing exams while in school as they were very content based.
To prepare for Nclex I used Davis/Mosby and some ATI.
I also passed with 75 questions.

I agree. The Saunders questions are nothing like NCLEX. Kaplan is close. I have to admit though that Saunders is a good source of content though . If one had the time I think the Saunders review book and questions book in addition to Kaplan or one of the others mentioned would be a good game plan.

I feel the same way about the Hurst review. Nothing like NCLEX.

I used several books over my attempts to pass NCLEX and I used Saunders the last time (3rd time) and passed. I preferred Saunders out of the ones I bought and tried. Everyone will have a book they prefer and everyone should make their own mind up. Also remember many people have passed with what they prefer and we all have our own opinions but please let people make their own choices.

I used suanders to study and found it the most helpful. Yea the questions weren't always difficult, but the rationales had a great explanantion and it featured alot of content. I've recommended saunders to everyone who has come to me to ask what to study.

I wouldn't say that Saunders "sucks" actually. You're right about it being an excellent review book. The newest edition (8th), is actually a GREAT book. It's great for quick reference.

As far as the questions, you're right, there is NOT that level of difficulty with the questions. But the NCLEX is a test where you really need to know how to answer the questions. I thought that Saunders rationales and strategies really showed HOW to answer the questions correctly. Kaplan was definitely more difficult, but Saunders has been helpful to many people in passing the NCLEX with 75 questions and 265 questions. Everyone is different
