My test is approaching and I feel like I've wasted the past 5 weeks studying the way I have. Just similar to how I studied for HESI, but I keep hearing how different NCLEX is! I study EVERY DAY. I review material and do a bunch of questions. That's about all I can do right? I couldn't afford an actual review class. I am able to use a free review through my school from med's pub I've been using. Med's, I'm just going over the staple drugs pretty much. Antibiotics make me frustrated b/c those drugs are similar to where you'd have to know the actual drug. Like Macrolides have the "mycin" but a few aminoglycosides have the same "mycin" ending.
Maybe panic is setting in. I've done close to 3000 practice questions. Why do I feel like I don't know anything? My brain is very scattered too. I'm sick of being obsessed with this test. I even DREAM about it! I had a dream about neuro last night and describing to myself about a patient I was observing who was presenting with decorticate posturing!

I think it's normal to feel so scatter-brained since we are responsible for knowing so much material. Honestly, I felt the very same way when I was preparing. The most important thing to remember is that you know the material better than you think... you made it through nursing school! Try not to get too stressed out to the point to where it affects your performance on the exam. Study only half a day (or not at all) the day before the test. This allows your mind to rest up and prepare for the big day.

I wish I had a foolproof strategy for you, but the truth is, everyone studies differently and has different strong & weak points so it would be hard to say which strategy is best! I wish you luck!!

Justme, I will pray for you! I am willing to bet that all those 'scatters' will come together in front of that screen and you WILL be a RN soon
