Please help!! Will I pass NCLEX with 50-60% on kaplan Q bank??

I am taking kaplan q bank questions and I am making between 50-60% on most all of my practice questions. I am usually doing only ten questions at a time on tutor mode. Is that OK to do or do I need to be taking all 50 questions on timed mode to determine if I will pass the NCLEX? I'm just really worried about these scores because I thought I had to make a 60 on all tests with 50 questions.

Thanks for any help!!

The percentage is definitely a confidence booster, but all that matters is understanding why you got the question right or wrong. Know your rationales and know your content. Our instructor told us that 65% was equal to having a 90% chance of passing the NCLEX, but it will go up as long as you know the rationales.

I keep hearing about the Kaplan Q bank. I have a Kaplan book but I don't see anything about accessing a Q bank online. I was wondering if there is anyone who passed the NCLEX and is no longer using the Kaplan information to share that information with me because I am taking my NCLEX soon and I am really begining to feel anxious. I want something that can show me how I am progressing as far as studying for the NCLEX. HELP PLEASE anyone!

When you sign up and pay for the complete Kaplan course, they will send you an email with instructions (username and password) regarding how to access the Qbank and Question trainers.

Possible to go either way. I would step it up to the timed test mode. Make it more realistic. And spend more time answering questions and studying the rationales. If you know the concepts behind the questions, you will be more confident when answering questions.

Hi to those that used the videos lectures online on the Kaplan site, i'm wondering did you guys follow along with the RN course book or just listened to the lectures?

the kaplan q bank and question trainer questions are much harder than the actual nclex. I felt that kaplan was much more in depth. I did all the q bank questions and averaged 61% for the entire q bank and I passed nclex my first time with 75 questions.

I took the test the first time knowing that I knew the content and thinking I could pass even thou I had poor test taking skills. I took the exam and failed with near passing in all the topics. After that I took kaplan Passed the test my second time with 75 questions. Kaplan is for test taking strategies for people who know the topics but need that extra help to learn how to answer the nclex questions which are different from the once we get in nursing school. I did all the QT but concentrated on 5-7, read rationals etc. Read 75 percent of the Kaplan book. Went over every med surg and fundamentals topic using the sauders book and did 75- 100 on sauders CD everytime I finished reading a section. I went over psych and psych meds. I already knew Peds and OB where my strong points so I only went over development stages, Erickson, PIH, Diabetes, Apgar, possitioning of the fetus and glaced at the diseases. If you know a subject is your strong point dont spend too much time on it but make sure you glace at it so you dont blank out when you see that topic on the test. I spent 2 1/2 weeks and 6-8 hours each day to study After taking the Kaplan course two months before and I passed using their strategy I owe alot to Kaplan. Watch the kaplan videos that comes with the online program. I watched the video on test taking stategies, IV meds and all the other meds, and I watched videos on the sections I wasnt doing well on in the QT. Remember this test is for beginner nurses and they test on subjects that should be general knowledge even if the area is not your specialty. My Friend told me THIS QUOTE " What man has made another man can make" the test is written by other nurses so another nurse should be able to pass it at some point, its not an impossible test to pass, its just how you go about preparing to pass, and your confidence in your self. Good Luck and let me know. Im personally going to use Kaplan for every test preparation from now on.

I did 50 questions, timed, each time I did them and my final score was around 57%. I had 75 question, passed on my first try in just over an hour. Most of my friends were in that range as well. Just make sure you do the final two practice tests. They were the most help.

DO you mean test 6 and test 7

Don't rely on percentages!! NCLEX is graded on how many you got right then wrong!! if your getting more right then your doing fine! I took hurst review and only studied from hurst and passed the first time!! Just got my license 7-15-11! Just like the lady on hurst review said I don't know why everybody get so caught up I'n the scores rather than how many they got right!! Hurst is the best!!'

Del07 I have a question for you. I just failed my first attempt at the nclex.

Did you like the Hurst review? I need some help with content. I got so many Ped and Med questions I knew I wasn't going to pass. Not sure where to start studying
