Are you sure that's not supposed to be 250 mg per 250 ml?

Exactly what I thought too...I am reading it right. It says 250mcg in 250ml. I totally think it is a stupid typo.

So, presuming there's a typo in there, let's try this:

mcg/kg/min x weight in kilos x 60 minutes

divided by

mg/ml x 1000 mcg/ml = mL/hour

7 mcg/kg/min x 58.63 x 60 = 24062.33

divided by 1 x 1000 = 24 mL/hour

I think that's more like it. Anyone?

Yep, that's what I got, more precisely 24.6 or 25 ml/hr.

Sure would suck to take care of that pt, here's why...

129lbs = 59kg
7mcg/kg/min = (59kg*7mcg)= 413 mcg/min

Now, you only have 250 mcg available in a 250cc bag and need to give 413 mcg/min, so....

With each 250cc bag of dopamine, you have about a 30 second supply. Better call pharmacy and let em know that you'll need 2 bags/minute for 12 hours. 60 minutes per hour @ 2 bags/min gives you 120 bags/hr * 12 hours = 1440 bags on your shift. That equals a minimum intake of 360,000cc's on your shift.

You might want to consider lasix as well

No, No need for lasix. it is correct, because the question was about elephant clinic (anorexic one). How many UAP one will need for 1440 bags, not mention shoes?
