Pearson Vue trick 2014 -still works!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I took my NCLEX in AL yesterday and as soon as it said delivery successful, I tried the trick and I got the good pop up!! Then today when I looked on the AL Board of Nursing my name is listed as an active RN as of today!! :) So the trick works still as of 1/9/14. I still cannot believe I'm officially a Registered Nurse!!

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.
I don't understand why anyone wouldn't just dispute the $200 charge on your debit/credit card if you really don't need to take the exam again

They will reverse the charge and investigate. In the meantime cancel your card and get a new one to avoid getting charged again.

I would never allow $200 to come out of my account for no reason without a fight

You will lose. You agree to the Tos when you click submit twice that you agree to pay the $200. Creating a second registration is specifically prohibited and not grounds for a refund. You agree to the no refund whatsoever by accepting the terms and submitting. That agreement is legally binding

I would still make an attempt to fight it and I would cancel card in the meantime, perhaps report card stolen

Let them try to sue me in court for the $200. I doubt it would be worth it for them to pay attorney fees and court costs to do so

I would at least make an attempt. If it would come between me getting my license and paying the additional $200 as an expensive lesson, then I'll pay up. But I'll take chances to at least give it a try. $200 is a lot to lose

Good luck with that. While I understand that $200 is a lot, I'm not sure the BoN will appreciate your tenacity over an unofficial unverified "trick".

Reporting a card that has not been stolen (and in fact you used to authorize legal charges) is fraud. Refusing to pay for an authorized service (the NCLEX registration) is defaulting on an authorized charge, and with intent to defraud (see above).

I don't know why anyone who is hoping to obtain (and KEEP) a professional license would ever risk it over something like this stupid PVT.

$200 is a lot to lose, yes, which is why no one should do this foolishly. But $200 is nothing compared to losing one's livelihood because his license to practice gets pulled (or never issued). And proceedings like you describe can and do become monkey-wrenches when seeking (and renewing) a State-issued license. You are endorsing ethically-challenged, actually illegal acts as a reasonable way to get out of paying your bills.

NOT a good plan by any stretch.

May I ask where your wealth of knowledge regarding the grading of the NCLEX comes from? I have read posts regarding the NCLEX dating back to 2012, and you are the only person that has mentioned the two-fold grading system. You either have the inside track to information that has illuded others for years or you're full of crap.

I have a penchant for reading. https://www.ncsbn.org/1222.htm

"DOUBLE CHECKING YOUR RESULTS

For quality control purposes, every NCLEX is scored twice; once by the computer at the test center and then after the exam record has been transmitted to Pearson VUE."

The NCSBN is a wealth of information.

"Scored twice" and "graded twice" are two very different things. The double check of scores isn't to regrade the exam. It's done in order to validate the completion of the exam and verification of the person taking the exam. That's why your palm is scanned once again as you leave the testing center.

I think the issue people are having with previous posts that have been viewed as condescending is that a non-expert is giving advice as if she (or he) is an expert on the matter.

Also...when your exam is being transmitted to Pearson VUE from the testing center, that is when you get the message of having an open registration or having a hold with the Pearson VUE "trick" when you try to re-register.

hi everyone! congrats to all who passed and don't give up to those taking it again! I just took my NCLEX-RN yesterday and I got the good pop up which i am praying means i passed... but where is this "delivery accepted" status shown? thanks!!

Just got you on the other thread ;)

No longer an applicable pop up message, as Pearson Vue changed/updated its registration software in late August of 2014. Anything you see about PVT PRIOR to then is obsolete :)

I got the same message today after taking my test at 1230 and finishing around 245. I had around 125 questions and am getting the good pop up. I'm not sure if some people are going all the way through the registration and attempting to pay again, or simply attempting to reregister. From what im told you have to attempt to pay again. I'm noticing this seems to be the flaw that some people are not doing or just not commenting on. If you don't attempt to pay again you will not be completing the PVT. And your result will be inaccurate. I haven't received my results yet but I'll let you all know. Also having taken the test in 2015 I can say that the pop up I got didn't mention to contact the BON. It simply said, "you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration can not be made at this time".

I also got the email almost immediately after saying.... Now that you've completed the NCLEX Examination, we understand you may still have questions. For a list of answers to commonly asked questions and your next steps as a candidate, please visit: "

For what it is worth I've heard that an email stating, "Thank you for taking the test...." or something of this sort means that you failed and should be able to complete a new registration.

Does anyone know if my pop up and email mean anything? Or more so did I pass??? I'm freaking out

It works as long as the card is valid...I only had 4$ on my card...it simply won't even try......
