Passed NCLEX-RN on 4th try

Hi everyone! I am sooo excited because today I got home after 6 miserable hours and 265 questions to find the "good pop-up" on my computer! I have been so overjoyed and am still in shock! I took nclex a total of 4 times. The 1st time I was a nervous wreck, the 2nd time I wasn't anymore prepared then I was the first time (I used Kaplan the first 2 try's). By my third try u figured out that Kaplan wasn't enough help so I decided to buy Hurst Review, I loved it. It brought back so much that I had either forgotten from school. (I graduated May 2013). Anyways the third time was another Fail. Fourth try I bought NCSBN Learning Extension because it was cheap and by this time I was so far in the drain with money. I spent $50 on their 3 week course and let me tell you that I am glad I did! I wanted it mostly because it came with 1,300+ questions that I could practice. I skimmed their content review and made sure I answered all the questions. By this time I noticed I wasn't reading questions the same anymore and my critical thinking skills were improving but because I was doing what I had not done the first 3x and that was READ RATIONALES. Whether it's right or wrong, I cannot stress this enough guys. Read them!!! You will see an improvement on the way you read the questions and the way you answer them! I know how you feel if you have failed, please know that I do. I was so broken and hurt. I thought it would never ever happen for me but if did and it was all thanks to God!!! I tell you now if you have failed, wipe the tears and get back up and say I WILL pass. It may not be when I want but I WILL PASS! Good luck my friends :)

Congrats to you! I can't wait to feel that feeling of relief. Was NCSBN the only thing you used this time?

CONGRATS!! :) what were your scores on ncsbn test if you don't mind sharing?...thank you! go celebrate:up:

Congratulations! I am still in the same boat as you once were before. I can only imagine your excitement after seeing that you passed! It probably is the best feeling in the world! I have had a hard time with this test and I am going in to take it for my fourth try. I have the kaplan and the hurst review. I must say that the Hurst was definitely my favorite out of the two. So you would also recommend the NCSBN? I have thought about that as well because yes, it is one of the cheaper of the reviews. I think I need to focus on learning how to answer questions critically. I have not mastered that yet. Anyways, congratulations again RN! You did it! Go out and celebrate!!!! :nurse::up:

You are my motivation! I have to pass this time around, I need to move on. Congrats!

Very motivating!

I was scoring anywhere between 50s-60s. Every now and then id get in the 70s but that was rare. Keep trying...don't give up...keep showing up to that testing center and you WILL pass!

Thanks for sharing! Congratulations!

Sorry I didn't read your question right. Yes, by ye fourth time I was too broke to buy anything else but I would use my hurst notes (which I bought hurst for the 3rd try) and anything I was rusty on id open the notes and review it and learn it!!!

Yes I had seen a lot of bad comments about the NCSBN learning ext. but ignored them because it was cheap anyway. I'm glad I did. Answering so many questions and reading their rationales helped me a Ton. Honestly my critical thinking skills Sucked also, that's why I kept failing but I know they improved!!! Good luck :) you can do it!!!

You are my motivation! I have to pass this time around I need to move on. Congrats![/quote']

Thank you!! Don't worry, hold your head high and move forward!!! PRAY PRAY PRAY & Study! Get some confidence, even if you feel like your lying to yourself say "I CAN PASS THIS" :) Good luck and I can't wait to hear from you that you passed :)
