Passed NCLEX-RN: My experiences

Hi There,

I passed NCLEX-RN last week from BON-Texas. Originally, I was a RN from Nepal. I used to read allnurses.com posts everyday and was very helpful for me but shied from posting myself. I wanted to share my experience with u all hoping it helps.

1. Preparation:

I prepared for it for about 3 months with (a) Kaplan strategies, practice and review 2011-2012, (b) Lippincott's Q&A Review for NCLEX-RN 11th Edition, © Kaplan NCLEX-RN Medications You Need to Know for the Exam, (d) Saunders Q & A Review for the NCLEX-RN® Examination5e and (e) Prep u 10000 by Lippincott. I am not saying you need to buy and practice all the above, but I used to practice the questions more than doing the theoretical review, and it worked perfect for me. I practiced 150-200 questions per day and reviewed their rationale for each of them. I did not take any review classes - in person or online, except the Kaplan free events for strategies.

2. Exam:

I was asked around 175 questions, and they were mostly SATA types. I was afraid since it was way more than 75 questions mostly mentioned in allnurses.com. But I passed, no need to worry if you have more questions. Just keep your cool and going. Taking a break may help.

3. Result:

Pearson Vue Trick worked for me too. I checked after 2 hours of my exam time, and it showed the lucky pop-up. And know I am happy!

hey I have a question

Kaplan NCLEX-RN Medications You Need to Know for the Exam, is that a book, CD or app on a phone?
