PASSED!!

Students NCLEX

Published

FINALLY! After months of rescheduling due to anxiety and just dreading it, I finally took the NCLEX for the second time on November 20 and passed with 75!! The first time I failed with all 265 questions, near passing in all categories...that was back in July. I had my new ATT by the end of September but anxiety caused me to keep pushing the date back. Most people who pass and push the exam date back say that they regret it and wish they took it sooner, I don't. My mind set wasn't right and if I would have went in with the anxiety that I was feeling, the fear of failing for a second time, and just generally doubting myself I know I would have failed again.

Moral of the story, do what feels right for YOU! It's great to read other people's experience and advice but in the end if you are so nervous that you can't focus there's no shame in rescheduling until you can bring your anxiety down to a normal level of pre-test nerves.

YOU CAN PASS!!! It's just a matter of learning how to gain control of your nerves and proper prep.

What worked for me:

LaCharity PDA....seriously wish I knew of this book before I took it the first time. Most of the NCLEX is prioritization and delegation.

Kaplan: I did the class and it has some very good information and techniques but I'm not 100% sure it was worth the hundreds of dollars. The Q-Bank and the trainers are very similar to the NCLEX and the videos are a good refresher for content. If you have the money for it then go for it. If you're tight on cash and don't want to put in on a credit card then don't worry because....

Davis NCLEX BOOK & CD: The questions are Kaplan level and very similar to the NCLEX. The best part? Only 20-30 dollars!! It has content review and comes with a CD so you can do questions on the computer. You can create quizzes based on the different areas of the NCLEX test plan and the content area you want, it also has a lot of SATA and alternate format questions. If you only want Kaplan for the Q-Bank then skip spending the money and just do this book and LaCharity.

GOOD LUCK AND DON'T FORGET TO BREATHE!

Yes I understand that, this time will be my third time also. Here in Ohio they post how many times you have taken the test. Which mine has the two ...which said close meaning I didn't pass. I can retake in 45 days , if I feel ready but I have to pay all over again to take the test for sure. Good Luck
