Over-psyching yourself out?

After looking at your scores, I think you're going to do fine on the nclex. I passed with 75 questions and to give you an idea, here are my scores from Kaplan:

dx=63

qt1=53

qt2=70

qt3=55

qt4=63

qt5=63

qt6=68

qt7=61

readiness=73

I also found kaplan questions to be a little easier than the nclex questions, esp the SATA questions.

If I were you I would spend most of my time answering questions, rather than studying. Only look at the book if you don't feel comfortable with a certain topic. When I was taking the kaplan course my instructor told me to only do questions and not waste my time w/the book and I thought she was crazy. But looking back on it, unless there was a disease I had no idea about (ie Burgers Disease) I wish I listened to her because I would have saved myself a lot of time!

You don't sound psycho, but it is totally normal to be freaking out before the nclex. I kept calling up one of my friends who took the nclex a week before me and asked her a million times if I was going to be okay. The key is to stay calm and read each question carefully and find out what they're really asking. Don't forget you need to relax the day before the test!

QT6=64

i take mine this wedneday, and yes am stressed out but, at this point i have done all i can, and frankly i do not think i will ever feel 100% ready.

Justine, before my NCLEX - PN ( 5 yrs ago ) I took all kinds of " tests " to see if I was ready and I got some horrible scores ( i.e. under 50 ) on all of them and never improved. My co-workers talked me into going anyway. The computer shut off at 85 which is the minimum and I thought I had done really really Baaaaad!!!! So I went to work and told my boss I had failed. I did not bother to get the quick results ( I was sooo sure I had failed ). 2 weeks later I get my lisence in the mail.

Long story short, forget the Q&A scores, do you feel like you have gained some confidence, do you feel like you have learned/reveiwed all you can before the test? You passed/graduated from nursing school & probable reveiwed like crazy. Think of the NCLEX this way, read the question then visualize how you are going to care for that patient. Be sure you understand what they are asking. Read the question at least twice before you look at the answer!!!! If one of the answers matches your first gut reaction/thought, then you are probably on the right track. But, be sure to read the question and all answers carefully again before clicking on the next button. You cannot go back only foward. GOOD LUCK!
