by FirePup

Are you only doing the questions or are you also reviewing every single rationale given for the answers, both correct as well as incorrect?

You should also not be doing more than 100 questions per day, or your brain gets stressed out and you do not retain anything.

I was getting the same thing on Saunders too. I was stressed but when I woke up this morning I realized that I was having too much negative stress. I slept late this morning, exercised and then got my first 80 on Saunders...and it was OB...my weak spot. Try to do some relaxation stuff...it helped me today!!! Good luck on the 16th!!!

No I am going back and reviewing the rationals after each quiz. I don't do more than 100 questions a day (I don't have that much attention )

I would say that I am just tired and need to go to bed, but I don't believe that is the case as most of my reviews have been around 70%....any ideas?!?

Suzanne, I have a question about doing practice questions on the Saunders CD...After taking the exam and reading the rational behind the answers, is it advisable to retake the same exam? I mean, once you've taken it and got the correct answers, isn't just a waste of time to retake because you already know the answer? Or retaking is just another way of practice? I've done it before and I noticed myself just brushing through the questions and since I still remember the answer I just click the right choice (of course at the end my score is close to perfect)..

I woud wait a few days, even one week, then go back and retake the exam and see how you do..................if you retake it immediately, you should be getting 100%, but that won't be the case with the true exam.

At this point, I would take a day or two off from studying and just let your brain rest. Go out to lunch with a book, not about medicine, go and see a movie, go to the zoo..................just do something for you, and forget about nursing for the day. Your brain will greatly appreciate it, and that is what is going to be the most important when you need to take the exam.

I took boards for the first time 3 weeks ago. I also kept track of my percentages for my practice tests and I averaged just over 73%, which was a concern and made me wish I hadn't even checked how many I was getting right. Anyways, I passed on 75 questions and thought that over all, the parctice questions were harder thatn the real thing. Understand the rationale to the answers of the questions that you use to review and remember to MASLOW!!!
