NYS BON NCLEX Retake Policy?

Students NCLEX

Published

Hi there,

Would anyone happen to know the NYS BON policy on NCLEX retakes? I have not yet failed the test ( I take it next month) but just wanted to know if there was a limit on takes and/or if one must re-apply to the BON as part of the ATT request (again). I've scoured the NYS BON website and I don't see anything about retakes or failing!

Again, I just want to be prepared in case things go horribly wrong and I fail.

Thanks :)

You haven't even taken the test. Worry about that first. If you're thinking this far ahead that you're going to fail, you'll find a way to make it happen. Calm down and study.

Think positively

Ok you're right--- I'm just getting really nervous because I keep studying and taking tests and my scores are going down...so it's a bit depressing. I was doing better when I started w/o having much of any review. So it's just weird and I wanted to be prepared for the worst :(

You can study too much and you can definitely use too many different sources. Believe in your preparation. Believe in your education. Believe in yourself

Just to answer you question, there is no limit on how many times you can take the NCLEX here in NY. "IF" you fail the first time you take it, you can always take it after 45 days. You can get your ATT right away after you pay the $200 fee at Pearson vue when you email them. They answer after an hour or two. Hope this helps! Be positive. You got this! Goodluck!

Thanks for answering me! I hope I don't need to take it again, but it's good to know the policy *just in case*!
