theres always a 50/50 chances of passing or failing. whether its 75 or 265. enjoy the wait and i hope you pass. good luck
Actually, that's not true. For one thing, the first time nationwide NCLEX pass rate is 85 percent give or take so, it's not 50/50.
Basically ... the odds of passing are higher at 75. You can still fail but the percentages are a lot less. The chances of passing doesn't drop to 50/50 until you go as far as 265.
The reason is: the test is looking for you to put a string of right answers together for the more difficult questions ... which are the ones they are looking for to pass.
If you do that early in the test then, it shuts down early. If you don't ... one of two things have happened. Either you've dug a hole so deep that the test determines you can't pass and it shuts down. But, chances are, even though you can certainly fail at 75 most people don't.
The second and more likely scenario is you're still on the borderline between passing and failing ... meaning: you've gotten some difficult questions right but not enough to pass so ... the test keeps giving you chances to put that string of right answers together for the more difficult, passing questions.
Generally, if you shut down early you have a better chance of passing. However, the chances aren't bad if you still have to keep going either because a hellava lot of people still pass after 75. Even at 265 ... which is, sort of the worst case scenario ... 50/50 isn't bad odds.
