Not enough

believe me,., i didn't join any review classes given myself 35 days to be exact to do self-review,., just dedication, time and a lot of effort can do,., i only utilized saunder's 5th ed for most part of my review,., and studied kaplan strategies (2008-2009 ed) and just answered 180 questions from that book,., i know it's really overwhelming on our part as "test-takers", that as much as possible we want use every book that we "heard" is the best and been using by the "majority", but it's not that, just use at least 2 references and stick to it., finish from cover to cover., in that way you won't be confuse in the end since every author of every book we are using sometimes differs... and you don't want that to happen during the actual boards.. best of luck!! and god bless

ps.. in god's help,., i was able to pass on my first try.. and not for bragging since it's doesn't have to do or doesn't pull any bearing at all to become a nurse, i stopped at number 75... so don't forget to pray! it makes things a lot EASIER! :)

I graduated in May 13. I passed my first time after 150 questions. I only used ATI, and I only had a week to review. I went over every test we used in school and every tutorial they opened for us. I did buy two NCLEX review books (saunders & mosby's), but I didn't use them. Honestly, I feel like if you're a strong test taker and you did well in school, why pay more for review courses? You know how to be a nurse....You already are one....you just have to prove it to the state. In the end, getting 75 questions versus 275 doesn't matter. Say a prayer before you start, and read every question like that's really a patient sitting in front of you. You will be fine.

I think the strategies I learned from Kaplan were very helpful, as were the questions. I would imagine most of the strategies are in their strategies book, and I think you can get the questions for less than doing the class.
