Newbie to take NCLEX-RN...please drop a note

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hi there! I'm new and just want to chat with you guys. I'm about to take NCLEX-RN in five or so weeks so I'm freaking out. I feel like I don't have enough time to be well prepared before I take the exam. Haven't received ATT yet since Vue is mailing them out by 10/1/02. I've no exam date yet, but wanna take it by Oct-Nov. so I'll have peaceful holidays

For those reviewing for NCLEX, would you mind giving me some tips on what books and cd-roms to use? How long do you plan to study?

Thanks and hope to hear from you.

  :uhoh3:

Not taking my RN yet. Just took my LPN, but I studied using the discs that came with my NCLEX books. Took test after test after test....I used Mosbys, Saunders and Davis'.

Don't freak....you'll do fine.....:)

Best of luck to you!

Saunders is pretty popular-see if a practice test on the computer is available @ your school these help. Stay Calm above all . Good Luck!

Specializes in LTC, ER, ICU,.
welcome and all the best to you!

I'm also reviewing for NCLEX-RN. It's really stressful but that's the fun of it I guess. Kaplan is great too!

Best wishes! :)

I took the NCLEX-RN in June. It's not as bad as people make it sound. I did a three day review course before I took it. My hospital paid for the course and paid us education hours for going to it. I think it helped me, especially with the med-surg stuff.

Good luck!

Hi...I'm still taking prereq's for an ADN program, but I popped in to wish you luck on your NCLEX

Best Wishes

I just took my NCLEX exam at the end of this past August for the first time and passed. I must say that the Kaplan course and center was an integral part of my success. I you cannot afford the course, at least get the Kaplan NCLEX RN book from the library, learn the test taking strategies and do the practice questions on the CD-ROM, good luck.:D

Thanks to all of you :-) Success to all of us in school and NCLEX!

I used Kaplan and thought it really helped. While I was taking the test I kept hearing the instructors voice coaching me to use the test taking stragities she taught. When I took my LPN boards I didn't take any prep course. Both times I got the minimum number of questions, go figure.

;) Good luck, CharmRN! I know you will do great! Keep us posted!

We can do this Charm! I'm also reviewing for the big test. :roll
