Need motivator for NCLEX

by nutara

I have to admit, studying for the NCLEX is not very fun. I am not very motivated for some reason. When I think about the test, I get nervous and find myself putting it off. I end up doing other things, knowing that I will suffer the consequences later. I am getting tired of this. Is anyone else going through this? I feel sort of silly.

Tara

If you have a friend who is a nurse maybe you could get them to show you one of their paychecks. That should work.

I'm supposed to be studying right now but I'm here posting instead.

I also don't feel motivated to study but I've been forcing myself. The thing is since I really don't want to study I am moving at a snails pace. I should have covered triple the material I have covered so far. It's really hard though because when I finally get firm with myself and start to study I fall asleep while I'm reading or answering questions!

i have to take my nclex next august. i am kind of anxious too. but i think it's a good idea to look at one of your friend's paycheck. but more than that, make a study plan ( med surge, OB, PEDs....) and stick to it. study nclex type questions. hope it helps

I myself was having a hard time getting motivated to study for my nclex, graduated 12/08 and began working as a GPN right away. I got comfortable in my position and everytime I attempted to study I just got distracted not to mention being super busy working full time. Everytime it got closer to my test date I would reschedule to give myself enough time. Finally I knew I had to get it over with scheduled the test for the last time 4/3 stuck to that date took it and passed with the minimun questions. Then I thought I should have taken it sooner. You will do fine be confident, study areas of weakness, and just go for it!

most of my friends are NCLEX-RN passers and it was the motivation factor for me since I envy them, I work hard for my exam
