Need Help With Nclex Options

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Good day everyone,

I need advice from all the experts here or from people who went through the same issue that I am having right now. Here is my story..

I graduated BSN and was licensed as an RN in the Philippines last 2007. I applied for the Ca Nclex RN exam last 2010, unfortunately, I failed. I migrated here in TX in 2011 and tried to retake it again, sad to say, I failed again. I worked in a computer company until last year, that I decided to go back to nursing. I studied for the NCLEX exam and now I am ready to take it again. I submitted my Transcript of Records and the License Verification from the Philippines to CGFNS. I got an email saying that it was already forwarded to the TX BON. However on their website, I just read that if it was more than 4 years since I failed the Nclex RN, I will need to take the whole nursing program again! I do not have the time and money to do that anymore... Can someone please advice me on what to do. I desperately need help.

My basic questions are:

1. Should I wait for the denial letter from Tx BON and apply for Nclex LVN instead?

2. Can I reapply to California BON and use the CGFNS CES report (Will I have to pay another fee for them to submit it to Cali BON)? Would they require re-education too?

3. Is there a state that will allow me to take the NCLEX RN exam without requiring re-education (studying/taking the whole RN program again)? Let us say, NM? Will they require reeducation? Should I pass the exam, can my license be transferred to TX?

Thank you so much in advance and more power!

-John

Just read you post. I also graduated from the Philippines 2008,But still struggling to pass the NCLEX exam. You can try to apply in New York. Well that's gonna be another 6 months of processing in CGFNS I guess,,

Thanks for replying.

I still have my cgfns report available, all I need to do is pay another $100 for them to forward it to another BON. I need to find a state that will allow me to retake the nclex rn exam without asking for a Re-education (take the whole nursing program again). In TX, they are asking me to do it, because it has been more than 4 years since I graduated. Any state, that isn't like this? Florida maybe?
