Some do and some don't all depends on the BON/BRN. But generally if sitting it again which is what the post you quote me was for then usually they don't just get pearsonvue to issue ATT once you meet requirements ie 45 days

hi! i'm also confused about re application for cali. 1.) is it correct that that 45 days starts at the last exam date i took the exam? (e.g. last nclex exam jan 1, 09 i can send my re app. documents on feb. 16, 09) is it correct?
2.) there are lots of forms, is it correct that i will only send the FIRST form to the BON along with my $75 bank draft? i will just disregard other forms?
3.) how long will it take for me to receive my eligibility?
    thank you=)

You can apply before your 45 days are up but you will only get your new ATT once the 45 days have passed. You only need to submit the resit form and pay fee. Same as pearsonvue you have to re pay any fees with them and they will send ATT once BRN OK's it

thank you for your response. what if i send it exactly at my 45th day, when will i receive my elig/att? is it correct that i will only send the FIRST form and disregard other forms?

ATT will only be sent once the BRN confirms everything, so if you send it on the 45 day it could take another week before you receive ATT. Regarding forms I am not sure as I went through another state. What are the other forms?

There is no such thing as the CA or the NY NCLEX. This is a national exam that is only one exam and the same no matter which state that you write it for or the locale that you write it in.

If you have trained out of the US, then you are going to need to go thru an entirely different process for NY. They require that you submit the CVS to them and this is done only by CGFNS and can take six to eight months or even longer to get done before it is even sent to NY. Next issue is that even though you may have family in NY, we have not seen any hospitals willing to petition in quite some time, so chances of getting hired by a hospital there are going to be slim to none. And there is nothing that family can do to speed things up for you. From the Philippines, you are looking at probably seven years for a chance at a green card for the US.

At this point in time, I would retake the exam for CA. The exam is not going to be any different if you wait to take it for NY and during this time, if you still desire to, you can submit for the CVS. Much has been written on this topic on the International Forum, I suggest that you do some reading there. Requirements are quite different when one is a foreign-trained nurse for licensure in the US.

    Best of luck to you.

If you go to the top of the NXLEX Forum, you will find stickies which are threads that do not move down the line but are always found at the top. You will see one that is called the First Tip, that needs to be followed exactly as it is written.

    All instructions are given there.
