If you have not already done so, I would urge you to pick up a copy of Lacharity's "Prioritization, Delegation and Assessment." It's a book of practice questions that will help you nail this topic. I picked up a used copy on Half.com for around $10.
Basic rules for NCLEX purposes:
Never delegate care of an unstable patient to an LPN or unlicensed personnel. A new admit is automatically deemed unstable and in the hands of the RN.
An LPN can perform an admission assessment as long as it is reviewed and approved by an RN.
An LPN cannot perform any discharge teaching except in cases where standardized materials are used.
Never delegate feeding of a patient who is at risk of aspiration to a UAP (e.g., a stroke patient).
