need advice... pls help

i applied for nclex in california board of nursing and my schedule is on january 2010... i just graduated this april 2009 and have not read any nursing related books and i'm freaking out cause i have no idea of what to read, how to review... i cannot afford to go to review centers, i'm working 8 hours everyday to support myself and my brother...
what are good review materials? my sis told me saunder's is good. should i read comprehensive books or just dive in to reviewers or test books? 2 months of review is okay right?!

pls pls give me some advice. thank you

I never took a review class. I simply did anywhere from 50-100 questions a day. I def did AT LEAST 50 a day for a month and went and took the test and passed after only 75 question which I did in like a little over an hour. Saunders is good and so is lippencotts. Just know that you can't know everything so don't think you can. I also bought the Qbank from Kaplan which is an online question bank that had like 1300 questions i think for like 300 dollars but there was more with it. You had 3 comprehensive exams n different modes you could take the tests in. Either way it worked for me. Most of the people I graduated with didnt take a review course and everyone passed. Good luck to you

I did Saunders, NCLEX 3500 and I reviewed some content from earlier semesters. I did questions daily (varied with my mood) and would write down anything I got wrong or realized I had forgotten about (even if I guessed correctly) so I could review it. I reviewed all those things off my handwritten notes periodically to reinforce it.
I did not do a review class, either. I passed with 75 questions.
You can do it!

I also suggest the Saunders RN book. That is what we are all going to get- one of the girls in my class already purchased it and said that it is great. You may also want to review some alternate format questions because they are supposed to change the testing format next year. Good luck!

I did not take a review course. Just study on my own. I did like around 100-150 questions a day from Saunders Q & A. I also did questions from the kaplan review book. I will pm you the advice I wrote to my friend.

Edit: I just realize I need 15+ post to pm other members. So if you could msg me your email address, I will email it to you
