NCLEX Yesterday

Nursing Students NCLEX

I know there are a lot of post here talking about failing NCLEX so I thought I would post that I took the NCLEX yesterday and passed in my first attempt!!

There is NOTHING that can prepare you for the feeling of taking the test. And the feeling that you have when the test stops?! It's relief, regret, elation, anger, and maybe a little hunger:) there really is no way to describe it.

I had 27 SATA, a ton of meds, and a ton of delegation and prioritization. I left feeling like I didn't know any of the meds and that o would be rescheduling. I always thought it was crazy that people said that until I took the test.

All this to say, people do pass boards on their first attempt. Some people don't, and that's ok. But don't become so bogged down by the post from people who didn't pas on this board that you start to believe there is no way to pass.

Congratulations! I took mine yesterday and I'm still waiting for results...

You're right, there is absolutely nothing to prepare you for how you feel when it's over. One of my friends said she had a headache and just wanted to sleep, my other friend who took it a few days ago said she cried and didn't want to talk to anyone and couldn't eat.

Me? I went numb. Then I cried. Then I needed antacids. Had lunch with that friend who just took the NCLEX a few days back and managed to eat. More antacids. Then I drove home like a zombie, but not before getting a huge slice of cheesecake.

Sounds about right!! Good luck to you. Hopefully you'll hear something soon!!

I'm in Florida. I believe it's technically a couple of days, but my classmates have been getting their results in a day...except for when the test is on a weekend

Hey springchick! Congrats on passing the NCLEX! May I ask how you studied for the exam and what sources you used? I'm taking the NCLEX for the first time on the last week of Feb. I used Hurst to review content and I'm currently doing the Kaplan Qbank and Qtrainers. I'm also utilizing the LaCharity PDA book as well as the 35 page study guide floating around here.

Appreciate your help! :)

I did Hurst review and did all the Q Reviews. I also used the LaCharity book as well. It was REALLY helpful. I had a bunch of those type questions. I would also recommend doing as many select all that apply questions that you can. I had a bunch of those too!

First of all, congrats!!!! Second of all, can you tell us how you prepared for those dreaded SATA? Those seem to be my weakness.

Thank You!!!!!

I answered as many as I could. I had a Saunders CD that I set to alternate format. I also had a ton on all my Qbank test from Hurst. Lippincott makes a book that is all alternate format. I will say that what probably helped me the MOST was reviewing the rationales for the select all that apply. They really helped explained whey certain answers were correct while others weren't.
