NCLEX on Thursday 2/2

Updated Jan 30, 2006 at 01:24 PM by gambitlizard

Well, I'm going to take my boards on Thursday. I'm really nervous and trying not to let that distract me. I took the Hurst review and okay on their mock NCLEX (69%). During my last school semester, I completed the Kaplan book and scored 67.2% on that test. Also, I've been doing the Mosby's CAT-RN and getting between 92-99% passing with varying difficulty.
Can anyone tell me what that means with relation to the actual test? Also, what should my preparation for tomorrow and Wednesday be?
Thanks much,
Kim

Bumping to see if ANYONE has some other pointers for me between tomorrow and Thursday (NCLEX). Also, do practice test scores really mean anything in comparison to boards?
Thanks,
k

Hey gambitlizard,
I too will be taking my boards on feb 28 so I can feel you!

You need to put your books away and go out to the mall do not touch any more questions. you've done all the studying that needed to be done I know that sounds hard but you need to be relaxed for the of the test. Go out get your nails and toes done and watch a movie enjoy yourself because you are bringing home the goal (your RN License ). Stay positive and calm, and remember if you forget thing don't forget this trust in the Lord for his can move mountains.

Just took the NCLEX this am. Since no one has anything positive to say after the test I am not going to talk about the test. I would just say for the day before your test stop studying and just relax. It really is the best advice. But if it helps I also took Hurst review and made about 70 on the mock NCLEX and I think I scored in 60-70's on Kaplan. Most of the people I have talked to did about the same and passed. So I am hoping it works for me too. Good luck to you.

relax and take your time. do not read anything into the questions. Look over the popular meds like phenergan, digoxin, lasix, etc. You will do fine. Do not study much the day before. get lots of rest and get to the test site early so that you are not rushing.

I couldn't have passed without marlenes help.

Is Georgia a state where you can get the "early" non-official results? If so, maybe that can put you at ease.
Louisiana is not, but I understand that scores are uploaded to the state website on Thursdays at midnight. Maybe you can check your's there on Friday.
Good luck!
