Nclex study material

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi, I'm going to take the NClex in January 2014

, so I am starting to look at books to help me study for it. I have the old yellow Saunders book (5th edition), but was wondering can I use it or should I get the new one the 6th edition. Some people say that the NClex has changed the past year, so now I'm not to sure if the 5th edition will prepare me as well as the 6th.

Also if anyone have other recommendations on study material, please let me know.

Thx

Hi! 5th edition is good.... don't spend to much money on nclex resources. .. Now I know it by a fact...

Try your yellow saunders book... and also the ncsbn learning extension.... has very very challenging q bank and very good content material. ....

I bought the basics and the RN course book from kaplan, but when I saw all the reading I had to do, I got discouraged at the end of week 2... then I bought the ncsbn.... and because all the theory is in 9 files I didn't see how big they were and actually I ended reading all the the theory! And did the 2500 qbank q.

Also if you are weak on prioritize .. the pda... but also the ncsbn teaches you how to critically think... I have some other resources too... send me yiur email by pm

Hi, thank you so much. I will then stick to my yellow Saunders book and look into the ncsbn.

I tried to send you an email, but apparently, I am to new to the site, so it tells me I'm not allowed to send emails yet.

Sorry, did you actually prescribed to the ncsbn online coorifice? If so how many weeks did you prescribe for and found was reasonable amount of time to cover all the material?

Ps. Sorry about all the questions.

Thanks

S

I did the 3 weeks one. But I didn't cover all .. I will suggest buying the six weeks combo...

Hi

I was reading those interesting information .where can I buy ncbsn learning extension and q-banks? What is the 6 weeks combo?

Is there any way that I can get the result of my NCLEX-RN test sooner?I took part in California board exam and unfortunately this state is not member in quick result service? I want to know if I need to start studying again.

Thank you

My classmate and I studied the Saunders NCLEX from front to back and we both passed!!...only you know what you need!!

Specializes in Emergency Nursing.

I also plan to test in January 2014 and bought the 6e recently, I plan on studying front to backwards in addition to kaplan since its offered by my school oh and lippincott. I did not have a saunders book which was why I got the 6e but i'm sure the 5e is just as good and efficient!! GOOD LUCK
