NCLEX - Round 2 .. not so good

Students NCLEX

Published

Took exam yesterday afternoon. 172q. Lots of SATA, priority, and delegation. 1 med. 2 EKG strips.

I took my time, used the white board, felt really good leaving and then BOOM.....

PVT - Bad pop up

I have used Uworld, Kaplan, Hurst (great for content), and happynclex.

Not sure what to do this time.... I have the usual emotions but they will pass.

The worst is that I did 3 assessment tests from Uworld (I had one left over from my previous subscription) and I got green - high chance of passing.

Any advice on review programs, study courses. etc is greatly appreciated. I live in MA and work full time.

Thanks so much!!

-Feeling defeated =(

Awww bummer I'm sorry. You will get it next time! I am from MA too and I was going to use tutors, Mary Jane Scott(in person) or The NCLEX tutor(online), I just didn't have the money and ran into car issues. I'm scared about taking it again, I used all the same materials you did ... how was your test ??

Just wait for the official! When did you try the pvt??

The test was different than the first, that is for sure.... tons of SATA, priority, and delegation. I honestly felt more calm and took my time. (3:45 for 172q)

-Dani: I did the PVT right after the exam, right after I received the email, and then again today. I for sure did not pass. Same as last time.

I used an NCLE book that was almost exactly like the NCLEX and let you set the questions for easy, hard or random. I'll see if I can remember the name of it. I am in Ma as well, if you're interested in tutoring I'd be happy to help if possible (I tutored several people in school with multiple fails and got them through) good luck, will see if I can find the name of the book. Best of luck

Hi there,

my suggestion is focus on one thing, i saw you used many different study materials, be sure to understand each rationale, not how many questions you did. I did uworld twice and i could memorize almost all the rationale. After i did the first round, i took the assessment and showed high chance to pass, however, i did the second round and went through all the questions and rationales again. When i did my nclex, there were so many questions i had no idea, however, uworld helped me to analyze and assisted me to choose the correct one.

Thank you kindly Jodispamodi!!

Hi Canadian-Nurse,

Yes, the first time I used Kaplan (didn't like it) and switched to Hurst which I liked for content. Second time I used Uworld, brushed up on Hurst, and listened to happynclex strategies.

I took both Uworld assessments and got green high chance of passing.

I do need to limit the materials.

I was just talking to someone about this the other day. Why are there so many resources? Believe me, I am all for different learning styles and people bring light to some subjects. I am just curious why they are so different? Shouldn't every book or resource say the same thing ... I had a hard time after I failed the first time because there's too many and which one works the best ? It's overwhelming and unnecessary and not to mention expensive. Sorry to rant í ½í¸ž

Hello. I used Saunders and Summit college nclex review (just watched their videos online) for content. PDA book, KAPLAN, UWORLD for practice questions.

During my nclex rn exam. I mostly got prioritation and delegation questions. I passed with 265 items last nov14.

Hello, I used spiderman packet from summit college and watched their videos for free from their site, I also used LA charity PDA, uworld(had more than 700 questions left), also mark klimek video. I passed with 75 questions, message me if you need help studying.
