    In some states it is different, while in NY you can take it as many times as you like, but in other states after certain amount of attempts you have to do some time of course, all the best to you.

    The number of attempts for taking NCLEX won't really affect your nursing career. As long as you have a license, you won't have any problems finding a job (well depending on where you live that is!) Good luck!

    The big career impact would be in the states that allow provisional licenses or graduate nurse permits. After a fail, nurses in those states usually have to stop working an a GN - sometimes they are kept on at the same facility in a tech/NA role.

    As far as down the road though, no one should know. It will just say, 'Lady123, RN' not 'Lady123, RN/Repeat Tester.'

    Thank you all for your input and sugessions.
    The state which I applied for the RN Nclex is Vermont. But I cannot able to start working under unless I get the RN license and work authorization from the immigration department since I am a foriengn nurse but residing in US in a non work visa.

    Yes..it has some impact..atleast until we pass the RN NCLEX....
    The Vermont BON says that you need to have a review plan and submit the results to them before applying for the third time.. and imposes more and more restrictions as one fails each time..and it varies to state to State.
    The requirement I got from the BON, VT is
    1. the curriculum plan;
    2. the evaluation process; and
    3. upon completion, documentation of results.
    I am not get much details on this .If some one know about this please let me know or post to this thread.
    Thanks,
    lady123
