check out the international forum especially the sticky titled Primer to working in the USA. You need to register with NY board of nursing, gothrough CVS and wait for ok to sit NCLEX. Plenty of info on international forum

hi to all the SuperModerators on this thread.. i have read the primers on top of this thread..I also have read that you do not really advise California as initial licensure for foreign graduates, even I know this for a fact and have presented my mother with the facts, she still pushes me to go to California. Well, anyways, may I ask (to all who posts in this thread) how did you go about in preparing your requirements to be passed to CABON?..

(1)Like with the Transcripts with RLE and Diploma, is it really certified true copy or the original copy with the school seal?..

(2)and is the Nursing Program Verification Form really included as one of the requirements?..[or it does not apply to all applicants]

(3)May I please have a copy of the written explanation you sent to CABON, so I may have a guide in writing? ??? [PLEASE post it with your message]

(4) For the confirmation card, where can I get the First Class U.S. Postage Stamp?

(5) For the fingerprint card, I have the Aliases and the Social Security No. blank, which is more appropriate for me to write, NONE or NOT APPLICABLE(N/A)?..And with the race, since only one letter fits the small box, what information should I print? [I am from the Philippines, by the way.]

(6)And lastly, how did you deal with the bank draft?..What steps did you take?..

Thanks! ;D

Based on my Experience:

(1) In my case to be SURE I send the original copy with the school seal. My other friends tried only the certified true copy, some experienced problems.

(2) I included it (Nursing Program Verification Form ) to be sure again

(3)written explanation for???

(4) I never send confirmation card but i traced the mail via FEDEX online track. But still try to ask also the POST OFFICES for Postage Stamp.

(5) Include your aliases. I leaved the SSN blank (in my case). Just write fil in the race just make it small.

(6) Regarding the bank draft i have an account in Banco de oro (but you can use any bank) then just ask them regarding this matter they already know the process. But dont forget a copy of the address which you'll send the bankdraft they might ask for a copy of this.( i mean from the application that you've downloaded on CAonline).

After this i received my eligibility for only 1 month and 10 days.

Yes, i thought it was 4-6 months to wait for them to respond but maybe i'm lucky that they process it so quickly. Well some of my friends' application did'nt respond and some are delayed maybe because of appplication errors. So be reminded be sure that you complete and double check your application before sending it.

I will be sending my application to CA BON tomorrow... hope everything will be fine.... I'm getting really anxious, maybe there are some things I should have done and didn't do which might just cause a delay.

just wondering about that case before taking NCLEX. you wait for ATT also right and before that you submitted the requirements for the BOARD OF NURSING where the state your applying, and then when you submitted all this requirements, did you submit all true copies or the original including your true copies of diploma, transcript etc... and then did they return it back to you as soon as they declare that your eligible to take the NCLEX? please reply...thanks
