the nclex is type CAT .......... computer adaptive test

so when you get your first check all that apply questions if you get it right the first time, then you will probably not get that many, but if you get it wrong you will keep getting them untill you get them right then the computer will stop.

for example, my friend got 15 check all that apply, while I got 4
my friend only got 2 math, I got 3 and I know for sure I got the first 2 wrong.
I have another friend who did not get not 1 math.

so everyone will test differently

my friend got a bunch of infection control q's while I just got one

another got a bunch of peds questions, while I got one.... and it had nothing to do with peds

I got 2 diabetes insulin questions, while they had nothing to do with diabetes------

the nclex is very weird, but if you study hard, prepare very well, and not get too anxious during and before the test, you will be fine

Not necessarily about the select all the apply. These are not all one subject area so if you get one right you could get more that relate to other areas. Plus, these are harder questions so if you get one wrong you may get some easier "one answer" questions. The more SATA (select all the apply) questions you get, the harder the test is getting (good sign). if you get a SATA question right, you may still get SATA questions in another area. if you get it wrong, you may get others from another area or a simpler question in that area. It is complicated, but generally it is a good sign to get SATA questions as that means your test is giving you higher level questions. I had at least 20. Most people I know that passed had quite a few and this does not mean they are getting them wrong. probably the opposite actually.

You bet, many of them.Cant exactly count but i got 6-10 questions on SATA.I dont know what 2 advice but if u want some of those questions,u can find them in Saunders book, after every section questions, they give a critical thinking question thats kinda those SATA.Its so annoying to find most questions on that esp if u dont know the condition fully.I hear missing one point takes the points off the question, its a tormenting situation for me.I can rem a few i dint pick or hesitated coz of not being sure, just read.

I haven't taken the nclex yet but our meds pub review last week was taught by a lady that writes questions for the boards and a student asked how many answers are usually marked on those type of questions. She said they are usually 2 or 4. Usually.

Lippincott's has a book with new format questions for around $6. There are two editions. Buy both!

I'll see if I can find the content she said is typical for those types of questions and get back with you.

Here's something else that was good: she said that if there's a delegation question about who to assign the float nurse to, you always choose the school age child (6-12) because they're the most like a med surg adult patient. So far, that trick has worked every time.

Maslow's - physiological needs first, if those are met, it's safety, etc.
Communication Theory (often seen in mental health), will be answered with the feeling answer. No "why" answers, offer self, open-ended and feelings.
Teaching Learning Theory - focus on motication to learn
Nursing Process - often the first thing the nurse should do is assess.

I have just taken recently my NCLEX exam and found out that the best materials in preparing for this test is by using the books by Pearson Vue. I have actually use Saunders, Kaplan, Mosby's, Lippincut and local review books, but I think the best are those from Pearson Vue. I just can't give you the complete details on why because of my signed sworn statement, but definitely these are the bests for me. Anyways, you'll know once you take the test using the review book/s by Pearson Vue entitled Exam Cram. See for your self and judge the books after taking the test.

Where do you buy Pearson VUE Exam Cram?

I could pay for another quarter at college with the money I'm putting into these books.
